Bear Butt Double Parachute Camping Hammock

If you love hanging out with your loved ones, literally, a double-size hammock like the Bear Butt Hammock is a great idea. They are small enough, easy to carry and will last you years to come View Latest Deal

Whether you go hiking a lot or just want to use it wherever you are traveling, hammocks are so easy to carry, set up, and use. In fact, most of the time I roll one out on a trip, it’s up in 2 minutes flat!

I have used a few different hammocks in my time, but nothing like the Bear Butt has the size for two people, and the quality. Because it is around 10ft long, it is also going to fit almost anyone of any height, even if you are over 6ft 5. And of course, the great thing about this is that it is “designed” to fit two people.

This baby is so big you could actually fit 3 people in it, as long as they are not bears!

The Bear Butt Hammock Features

Bear Butt Double Parachute Camping Hammock, Blue/Gray

So, in plain English this hammock is VERY BIG – can easily accommodate two adults (length and width-wise).

It is made of quality material that is rated up to 500lbs – so definitely two large adults can hang in this baby without breaking it.

The material, 75D Nylon, is also super comfy and not abrasive. So, you can lounge about in this baby for hours and still not worry about feeling uncomfortable.

You could also throw in your sleeping pad if you are out camping too, making it even more comfortable and adding that extra layer between you and the outside world. Which is great, especially if it is getting cold out.

It’s not the lightest double on the market either, but somewhere in the middle. So, if you are one to go lightweight hiking, or hike long ways, then you might think twice about the benefits of such a hammock. Ultimately you have to make that decision based on what you can and do normally take camping.

What’s It Come With?

Bear Butt Double Parachute Camping Hammock Review

The Bear Butt Hammock comes with everything you need (ropes, carabiners to clip it to the ropes) including a stuff sack for all the bits and pieces. So, super easy to pack and carry either while traveling or on a camping trip

But, the big question is then: how easy is it to set up. Let’s take a look…

The Bear Butt Hammock Setup

The setup is actually simpler than I probably gave them credit for. It could be less than a minute once you get good at it!

Here are the main steps, and then a video below so you can see it in action:

  1. Find two trees about 12 feet or more apart
  2. Loop the ropes around each tree and pull tight
  3. Attach the hammock to the looks with the carabiners
  4. Lie back and relax

Here’s a set-up walkthrough:

The hammock comes with ropes, but the Bear Butt Kodiak straps you can see in the video are way better. They are also from Bear Butt and come with variable length loops so you can quickly and easily adjust the height (like in the video).

Of course, you can stick with the ropes when you first get it. But you will find if you use it a lot that these straps are a life-saver!

And it comes with a money-back guarantee. This is what they say:

“Our promise is that our product is just as great, better or the bestest out there and we back it with our crazy promise.”

And is one of the cheaper hammocks out there, usually under $40. Pretty cheap for a double-size quality travel hammock!

Oh, and if you are planning on using it for hammock camping or sleeping in at night, consider getting a hammock underquilt to keep you cozy and warm!
