We all have a favorite color that we’d prefer most of our belongings to be. Mine is pink, and I can’t tell you how many items I’ve bought just because they’re pink, including suitcases. Not all of them were great though, which is why I want to help you find the best purple suitcases that are actually good and worth the money.

I’ve included options from premium luggage brands, as well as a few budget items for travelers who can’t afford the top luggage brands. In any case, this review features only the best purple suitcases money can buy, so keep scrolling if that’s exactly what you’re in the market for!

Samsonite is one of the best luggage brands on the market, and they’re still one of the best options even if you’re specifically looking for a purple suitcase. The brand has quite a few luggage lines that are available in bright and dark purple colors but the Voltage DLX is my favorite option.
It’s a hardside carry-on suitcase with smooth double spinner wheels, an expandable capacity, and an ergonomic wheel handle. This luggage features a TSA-approved combination lock, with a USB charging port built into the lock panel for easy access. The case is made from polypropylene, a durable but very lightweight type of plastic.
The Samsonite suitcase has two spacious packing compartments, one of which features elastic cross straps and the other a full panel, zippered divider. There are pockets on the divider and inside the other compartment, including a dedicated battery pack pocket just below the TSA lock.
Additionally, this suitcase includes a Wetpack pocket that’s leakproof and perfect for swimsuits, toiletries, or any items that aren’t completely dry. You can expand the capacity of this luggage, which will widen the case by an extra inch and provide even more packing space.
Briggs & Riley’s Baseline luggage is the brand’s most popular luggage collection, and it’s available in a deep purple color. This is possibly one of the best softside suitcases you can buy, so if you generally prefer the organizational features of softshell luggage, the Baseline carry-on might just be the best option for you.
The luggage is made from ballistic nylon, an exceptionally durable fabric that is resistant to scratches and water. It’s not an entirely waterproof suitcase, but it can easily withstand some light rain.
The bag also features sturdy YKK zippers, an outsider handle that maximizes packing capacity, a height-adjustable aluminum wheel handle, and shock-absorbing double-spinner wheels. This suitcase has grab handles on the top, sides, and bottom, so you can easily pick it up and place it in an overhead compartment on an airplane.
All those features are great and speak volumes about the premium build quality of the luggage, but the packing compartment is the star of the show. Briggs & Riley includes their proprietary CX compression system in this bag, which essentially means that you get expandable capacity with 25% packing space without a zipper. Instead, the luggage has CX buttons on the sides that allow easy expansion.
This suitcase also has multiple pockets in the main compartment, a built-in garment folder, a battery pack pocket, and a large external pocket on the front panel.
Travelpro is a very popular brand among frequent flyers and airline professionals, so they’re certainly a great option if you want a durable suitcase that can withstand pretty much anything. Their Maxlite collection is lightweight, sturdy, and available in a beautiful Orchid color that will definitely stand out in a sea of black and grey suitcases at the airport.
This luggage is made from Polycarbonate, which is the best material for hardside suitcases. It is exceptionally strong, lightweight, and very flexible so that when the shell suffers a hard impact, it can easily absorb the shock without cracking.
This case also features a TSA-friendly lock, zippered expansion system, smooth spinner wheels, and a multi-stage aluminum wheel handle with a contoured grip. There are also grab handles on the top and side of the suitcase, so it’s easy to pick it up.
The interior of the Travelpro luggage features two separate packing compartments, each with a zippered divider. The suitcase is fully lined inside, and it’s worth mentioning that the lining is entirely made from recycled plastic bottles. There’s one small pocket on one of the dividers, but I’m afraid you won’t get much else in terms of organizational features.
Rimowa is the brand that invented the first aluminum suitcase and the first polycarbonate suitcase. They’re pioneers in the luggage industry, and you can absolutely never go wrong with one of their cases. Rimowa’s Essential line is available in a variety of fun colors, with a lovely light purple included!
The Essential carry-on is made from durable polycarbonate with polyester lining and dividers. The suitcase has durable double spinner wheels, a wheel handle made from aircraft-grade aluminum, and a TSA-approved lock. It’s worth noting that the wheel handle supports stage-free adjustment, so you will be able to set it to the exact height that suits you best.
All four corners of the case are reinforced for better impact resistance, and the textured shell will hide any scuffs and scratches. The luggage also features grab handles on the top and sides, but there’s no handle at the bottom of the bag.
The interior of the Rimowa Essential luggage is fully lined and features a Flex Divider in each compartment. You can easily adjust the height of this divider, plus it’s worth noting that there’s a zippered pocket on each of the dividers.
Overall, this is an amazing suitcase and a great option if you’re looking for luxury luggage. It will last you a long time, and Rimowa has a great warranty in place that will cover any necessary repairs. But it does lack some features that would make it a bit more functional, so I wouldn’t recommend it to people who can’t afford the bag without breaking the bank.
The Monos Carry-On Pro is my favorite piece of luggage from this minimalistic brand. The purple version of this suitcase is a limited edition, so if you like the bag be sure to get it ASAP before the color is sold out.
The Pro version of the Monos Carry-On has an external zippered pocket, which is absolutely amazing for staying organized. This compartment has a dedicated laptop sleeve and several smaller open and closed pockets, which are just perfect for any smaller items you would like to keep easily accessible while you’re in transit to and from the airport.
The luggage is made from aerospace-grade polycarbonate with YKK zippers and an adjustable wheel handle. The telescopic wheel handle locks into four positions, making it easy for anyone to adjust it to their preferred height. This suitcase also has a TSA-friendly lock and very durable double spinner wheels.
The interior of the suitcase has a removable compression bag with a zippered pocket and a full-panel divider in the other compartment. Overall, this is without a doubt my favorite purple carry-on, in terms of both durability and functionality.
The Stratum three-piece set is a good option for travelers on a tighter budget. For the price of one Monos carry-on, you can get a set of three suitcases that will cover all your luggage needs. The set includes a 20” carry-on, a 24” medium checked bag, and a large, 28” checked suitcase.
This isn’t the most durable suitcase collection out of the bunch since it is made from ABS plastic, but it’s certainly not poor quality. The shell is textured to hide any scuffs and scratches, the single spinner wheels are super smooth, and the wheel handle can be locked in multiple stages for easy height adjustment.
Keep in mind that American Tourister is owned by Samsonite; so this is still a really good suitcase. The cases have an expendable capacity and two spacious packing compartments. There’s a full panel divider in one of the compartments and elastic cross straps in the other, as well as a small zippered pocket.
The U.S. Traveler Boren carry-on suitcase is a good option for travelers who want the durability of polycarbonate, but without paying a premium price. You still won’t get the best iteration of the material, but you will get a suitcase that is more durable and lighter than the average ABS plastic case.
This luggage features a durable hardshell exterior with double spinner wheels and a retractable wheel handle. There are grab handles on the top and sides, as well as a USB port so you can charge your electronics on the go. There’s no TSA lock on the luggage, but that’s one thing I can overlook because it’s carry-on-sized.
This suitcase has two fully-lined packing compartments. One compartment has tie-down straps and the other has a full-panel divider with a convenient zippered pocket. There’s also a zippered pocket for a power bank right behind the USB port.
Overall, it’s not a special suitcase by any means, but it is an excellent option for travelers who can’t afford to spend hundreds of dollars on a piece of luggage. The Boren suitcase is very affordable and its lavender version is really a sight for sore eyes.
Rockland is a very popular budget luggage brand. They manufacture suitcases of decent quality, which usually have a bunch of useful features that you sometimes don’t get on premium cases.
The London spinner is made from ABS plastic, so you’re not getting the absolute best case in terms of durability, but that’s honestly fine if you just want a carry-on. I’ve owned an ABS carry-on for about a decade, and it’s still perfectly functional, except for a couple of tears in the lining inside.
Also, it helps that all the corners of the Rockland spinner are reinforced, for better impact resistance. This feature is present on all the Rockland London luggage, and it’s worth noting that the case is also available in a larger checked option (28″), plus you can get a three-piece luggage set.
This luggage features smooth double spinner wheels and a telescopic wheel handle. The interior boasts two packing compartments with a full-panel divider in one and elastic cross-straps in the other. The divider has one zippered mesh pocket and two open pockets, for easy organization, as well as expandable capacity.
If you like the design and functionality of the Monos suitcase but you can’t quite afford it, the Luggex suitcase is a good dupe. Of course, the build quality is far from identical, but if you’re looking to get a carry-on suitcase it doesn’t need to be the most durable bag ever built.
This luggage is made from polycarbonate for excellent durability. It’s got double spinner wheels that are smooth and silent, a TSA-approved combination lock, a USB charging port, and a telescopic wheel handle that locks into position with the push of a button.
The front compartment is my favorite feature of this suitcase, mostly because it’s pretty rare to find hardside luggage with external compartments. Especially if you’re on a tighter budget and you can’t afford to spend $300+ on a suitcase. This case has multiple open and zippered pockets in the front compartment, one of which is padded and suitable for 15.6” laptops. It’s worth noting that the TSA lock will secure both sets of zippers.
Both compartments have full panel dividers and one of the compartments also has elastic cross straps inside. One thing to note is that this specific suitcase does not have an expandable capacity, but it is available in a version with an expansion zipper.
Delsey Paris Sky Max might be the last purple suitcase I tell you about, but it’s certainly not my least favorite. This is a popular and high-quality brand comparable to Samsonite, so if you liked none of the other suitcases but you still want something premium, consider this option.
This is a medium-sized checked suitcase, but it’s also available in a carry-on and a larger version. It’s made from ballistic polyester, and it’s remarkably lightweight for a suitcase of this size. The luggage also features spinner wheels, a telescopic wheel handle, and grab handles on the top, side, and bottom, for maximum convenience.
The Sky Max luggage has an expandable capacity, as well as a variety of internal and external pockets for effortless organization. There are two compartments on the front of the case, which are perfect for any items you want to keep handy while you’re moving around with the suitcase. There’s also a zippered pocket on the back side of the suitcase.
The packing compartment is spacious and features tie-down straps to secure your belongings in place. There are also two pockets on the top cover, including pockets for toiletries and shoes.
Are you looking to get a carry-on, a medium-sized case, or a large checked suitcase? Size matters quite a bit when choosing luggage, so make sure you’re looking at suitcases that are spacious enough for you. Also, if you’re used to traveling internationally, make sure that the carry-ons are 22” or under to fit the cabin baggage restrictions of international airlines.
Hardside luggage is usually the most durable option and polycarbonate is the best material for it. Polypropylene and ABS plastic are also often used for luggage; they’re not quite as durable, but they are lightweight and perfectly fine for carry-ons. Stick with softside luggage if you like having multiple (internal and external) pockets on your suitcase, and you don’t really need an ultra-durable checked bag.
Are there any features that you absolutely need to have on your luggage? Maybe it’s expandable capacity, a height-adjustable handle, or just a bunch of pockets inside? Don’t settle for a suitcase that doesn’t check all your boxes because I’m sure you can find at least one purple case that will have everything you need.
I’ve included suitcases that cost anywhere from $50 to more than $500, so there should be at least one option that’s in your price range. If you really like one of the pricier suitcases but you can’t really afford it, just look for a dupe. Many cheaper brands copy the designs of luxury suitcases, and although you won’t get identical quality, you can still have the features you like.
One thing to note is that, if you are someone who flies very often, it’s better to bite the bullet and get the more expensive luggage because you will end up saving money in the long run.
All the purple luggage featured in this review is an option worth considering, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have my favorites.
Briggs & Riley Baseline is by far the best option if you’re in the market for a softshell suitcase. It’s made from ballistic nylon for excellent durability, it’s got YKK zippers, a height-adjustable wheel handle, and smooth and silent spinner wheels. The suitcase also features zipperless expansion, which grants you up to 25% more packing space!
Rimowa Essentials is the best premium luggage for travelers who want a hard side suitcase. It’s a polycarbonate case with smooth spinner wheels, a TSA-approved lock, and a wheel handle that can be locked at any height. The luggage also has an adjustable divider in each compartment, as well as a couple of pockets inside.
The Luggex is easily my top choice for a budget suitcase. It’s under $150, it’s made from polycarbonate, and it has an external front compartment despite being a hardshell suitcase, which is why I like it so much. It’s got spinner wheels, a TSA lock, and a USB type-C port for charging on the go.
The front compartment features several open and zippered pockets, while the two packing compartments offer plenty of space for shorter trips.
If you’re open to luggage of a different color, you can find even more excellent suitcases in our related posts!
