The stretch fabric over the back has great ventilation and really lets your back breathe. This makes any moisture inside the jacket evaporate and ensures that your clothes don’t stay wet if you start sweating.

And if you find that you need even better ventilation, you’ll be glad to know that the zippers on the side of the jacket open it up entirely. This will expose your shirt underneath, and let some air inside.

This is a padded version of their iconic 1970s Raven jacket; a style that has been worn and loved by many generations. Its timeless design will stay trendy even after several decades. But the Raven jacket is not just stylish; it is made from G-1000 Eco – Fjallraven’s own fabric.

It is hardwearing and very versatile, and this particular type of G-1000 is made from organic cotton and recycled polyester. If you want to stay environmentally conscious, this is a great jacket for you.

It is treated with DWR for excellent water resistance, and it features Fjallraven’s proprietary synthetic insulation, Supreme Microloft. It can keep you warm when wet better than down, and it is much easier to clean.

The jacket has a hood that you can roll into the collar – a feature that I absolutely love. It has a total of four external pockets with flap closure and also side openings, as well as an internal zippered pocket. The Raven also features a zippered closure with a storm flap and adjustable cuffs.

Overall, the Raven jacket is a really good option if you want something versatile. It is very warm and lightweight and makes an amazing everyday jacket. But this is also outerwear that you can wear when hiking, trekking, or doing any other outdoor activities where you need to stay warm and dry.

Fjallraven Expedition Down Lite Jacket

Fjallraven does really warm jackets as well. And their Down Lite Jacket is an absolute winner; with 90% goose down insulation, this will keep you nice and toasty throughout the coldest months of the year. The jacket has 730 grams of insulation in it, which accounts for 41.5% weight of the jacket. And that’s a very high number.

This Fjallraven jacket is only available in two colors – Black and Navy. There’s a serious lack of color variety with this jacket, but that’s pretty much the only downside.

The exterior of the Expedition Down coat is made from 100% polyamide, which is treated with DWR. That means that the jacket has excellent water resistance, and is able to keep you warm even if it gets damp.

This is really important; jackets that have down insulation but are not water-resistant tend to become useless if they get wet. Down insulation gets lumpy, and is not able to retain warmth effectively when not dry.

What about the other features of this Fjallraven jacket? Well, it has a two-way zipper with a storm flap, which will keep out the wind. There are two top-loaded pockets with flaps that also feature side openings, for extra storage space. And there’s a larger internal pocket with zipper closure, for all the items you want to keep extra safe.

Overall, this is one of Fjallraven’s best jackets for really cold weather. If you can’t afford the four-digit price tags of similar Canada Goose jackets, the Expedition Down jacket is an amazing choice that performs just as well.

Fjallraven Stina Women’s Jacket

The Stina is a great outdoor jacket for the ladies. It is remarkably lightweight – at only 340 grams, this jacket is lighter than a large chocolate bar. It’s mostly made from G-1000 Lite, with patches of G-1000 original over the shoulders.

This is not a winter jacket – it doesn’t have any insulation and it is very thin, so you should definitely skip it if you’re looking for something that will keep you warm in temperatures below zero. But, if you want a lightweight jacket for fall or for hikes, the Stina is an excellent option.

It is not restrictive and allows for great freedom of movement. However, this jacket is not really winded or water-resistant, which is not really perfect for outdoor adventures. You can wax it though; this would increase the wind and water resistance of the Stina, and make it much more suitable for various weather conditions.

This Fjallraven women’s jacket has a fixed hood that fits snugly around your face, and it features two zippered pockets just below the chest. There’s a two-way zipper on the Stina, as well as an internal flap. Both the sleeves and the hem can be adjusted, which is a convenient addition.

Overall, Stina is a great jacket for active ladies. It makes a good everyday jacket in early fall since it is very lightweight and stylish. And it makes an even better jacket for outdoor fun with friends, due to its durable and breathable materials. But it’s not waterproof or wind-resistant, so I wouldn’t wear it in the rain without waxing it first.

The Nuuk Parka is a windproof and waterproof jacket for the ladies. It is really warm thanks to Supreme Microloft synthetic insulation, and it is surprisingly lightweight for a parka! In fact, I think this is the lightest winter jacket in this review, which is amazing.

The exterior of the jacket is made from 100% polyamide, with a Hydratic membrane that repels water. It has a total of 15 pockets, which is reason enough to get it. Seven of those are on the inside, for safe storage of all your valuable items. And eight are on the outside, including two fleece-lined pockets for hand warming. You will even have a media player pocket on the sleeve.

There’s a drawcord at the hem, which lets you adjust the width of the parka. In addition to that, you can also adjust the sleeve cuffs with Velcro strips.

The Nuuk parka features a fixed storm hood, with detachable faux fur trim. And it has a zipper closure with a snap placket that helps keep the wind out. However, the parka is a bit restrictive due to firm materials, so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for hiking and trekking.

This is an amazing jacket for cold weather, and something you should definitely get if you hate the cold as much as I do. It would keep you warm and dry even in a snowstorm, and it is very comfortable to wear. And it has 15 pockets – pretty much a precedent for women’s jackets.

The Barents parka is another great choice for really cold weather. It has Microloft Supreme padding that keeps you toasty warm even in below zero temperatures. And the exterior of the jacket is made from a mixture of G-1000 original and G-1000 Heavy Duty Eco, which has a Hydratic membrane that makes it waterproof.

This jacket features two-way zipper closure and a storm flap that keeps out any wind. It has a total of four external pockets – two chest ones that have zippers, and two lower ones with flap closure. The pockets are pretty big, which is frankly a rarity on women’s jackets. And there are also two internal pockets, as well as a hidden napoleon pocket.

The Barents jacket also has a pretty large hood that will protect you from falling snow. It has the same waterproof membrane as the body of the jacket, and it comes with detachable faux fur trim.

There’s a drawcord at the hem, which lets you adjust the width of the jacket. And you can also adjust the width of the sleeve cuffs, which have Velcro.

Overall, the Barents parka is a really good option for the dead of winter. It is a waterproof and windproof jacket, with high-quality synthetic insulation. It performs remarkably well, and it is about half the price of an average Canada Goose parka. If you’re looking for a superb performance at an attractive price tag, this is the best Fjallraven jacket for you.

The HyBridge Lite Hoody is a slim-fitting lightweight jacket. It is a lot warmer than it looks, so it’s actually not the best choice if you want something thin for fall. But it is a great option if you want a warm jacket for early winter. According to Canada Goose, this jacket is best suitable for 5°C / -5°C temperatures, and it is particularly great for any active pursuits.

It is made from two different materials, but the main material is Feather-Light 10-D – a lightweight abrasion-resistant material with water-repelling features. The side panels and underarms are made with Tensile-Tech fabric, which is stretchy, breathable, and water-resistant.

The jacket is insulated with 800 Fill Power Goose Down, which does an amazing job at keeping you warm. And since the exterior is water-resistant, it should perform just as well when damp.

The HyBridge Hoody by Canada Goose is an excellent choice if you want something that you could layer with outer shells. You can pair it with a thin, waterproof ski jacket and create an absolute monster of a coat. It even has features that help with this; the cuffs are stretched and have thumb loops, which make the sleeves stay put when you’re layering.

Another really cool thing about this Canada Goose jacket is that it’s really convenient for travel. It packs into the left pocket, which makes it super easy to carry the jacket anywhere. Plus, you can use it as a pillow – pretty cool if you’re out camping.

Canada Goose Men's Wyndham Parka

The Wyndham Parka is a great option for really cold weather. It has a temperature rating of -10°C / -20°C, making it suitable even for the nastiest winters. The jacket features a two-way zipper with a storm flap, which does an excellent job at keeping out the elements.

It has a total of six pockets – two internal ones and four external ones. There are even two double-stacked hand-warming pockets lined with fleece, which will keep your hands nice and toasty warm. One internal pocket has a security zipper, and the other one is a drop-in mesh pocket – great for storing your goggles, or anything you want to have easy access to.

The parka is made from Arctic Tech – Canada Goose’s proprietary material with excellent durability and wind and water resistance. It’s designed to stay dry in all sorts of climates and weather conditions, which makes this jacket absolutely perfect for slushy winters.

Even the hood is insulated with duck down, and it features a detachable (real) fur ruff. You can remove the entire hood if you want to, which makes it easier to pair this jacket with a helmet.

The cuffs are not adjustable, but the jacket features recessed rib cuffs. They are stretchy and they won’t let any wind or cold inside the sleeves.

This is a slim-fit jacket, so it is fairly restrictive. It is a bit tight, so probably not the best option if you want to layer it over bulky sweaters. But, considering just how warm it is, you would pretty much stay warm if you only had a tank top underneath it.

Canada Goose Men's Carson Parka

The Carson Parka is the warmest men’s jacket out of the bunch. It will keep you warm even if temperatures drop to -25°C, which is absolutely amazing. This is a mid-thigh, slim-fit parka, so it is rather restrictive when it comes to freedom of movement. It’s maybe not the best choice for active pursuits, but it’s my favorite option for daily warmth.

This jacket features a two-way zipper with a snap placket, which does a great job of keeping the warmth in. It is also wind and water-resistant, making it perfect for unpredictable weather conditions. And it lets you unzip the lower portion of the jacket, in case you need extra ventilation or a wider range of motion.

The parka has a total of four pockets; three external ones and a single internal pocket. There’s an external chest pocket, as well as two hand-warming ones that are lined with fleece. All of them have a zipper closure, which guarantees the safety of your items. The same goes for the internal security pocket.

There’s also a chin guard lined with fleece, which is one of my favorite features ever on jackets. In case you don’t have a scarf, the chin guard is very soft against your skin, and does a really great job at keeping you warm.

The hood of the Carson Parka is not removable, but it is adjustable. It features a wire for enhanced fit, as well as a detachable (real) fur ruff. CG recommends that you take off the fur when you take the jacket for dry cleaning, to avoid damaging it.

Best Canada Goose Women’s Jackets

Canada Goose Women's Chilliwack Bomber

The Chilliwack Bomber is a great option if you’re looking for a jacket for active pursuits. It features stretch ribbing at the waist, which gives you great freedom of movement. Especially because this is a bomber-length jacket, so it’s not at all restrictive below your hips. In addition to that, these features also help keep the elements out and make you toasty warm.

There’s also stretch ribbing at the cuffs so that the sleeves are able to retain heat. This is generally a really warm jacket; it is insulated with 625 Fill Power Duck Down, and it has a temperature rating of -10°C / -20°C. Which makes it great not just for active pursuits, but also for daily wear in the dead of winter.

This bomber jacket has five external pockets; two of those are hand warming pockets, one is a sleeve pen pocket and two are high hand pockets. There is also a drop-in internal pocket, for any items you would like to keep more secure.

There’s an adjustable but not removable hood on the Chilliwack. It has an internal shaping wire that helps it remain on your head in windy weather. And it features a detachable (real) fur ruff, which you should remove before dry cleaning this jacket.

This Canada Goose jacket has a front zipper closure, with a storm flap over the zipper. The flap is secured with military buttons, which is just one of the many design features that are an homage to Canadian post-war bush pilots. Actually, this entire jacket was inspired by them, which is one reason why I love it so much.

The Burnett Parka is a good hip-length option. The shell of the jacket is made from Arctic Tech, a material with excellent wind and water resistance. It is insulated with 625 Fill Power Duck Down, which makes it very warm. In fact, the jacket has a temperature rating of -10°C / -20°C, so it’s perfectly suitable for really cold winters.

It is a military-inspired design, so it is a slightly sporty jacket. And it does not come with a fur ruff, so it’s a great option if you’re not a fan of real fur.

There are two chest pockets on the jacket, as well as two lower drop-in pockets. The lower pockets also feature side access with brushed tricot lining – a great hand-warming feature. In addition to that, this parka features two internal pockets – one has a zipper closure, while the other one is a drop-in pocket, with a smaller media pocket inside it.

The cuffs of this coat are not adjustable because they are made from stretchy fabric. They will keep the elements out of the sleeves, and retain warmth. The hem is also adjustable so that you can really make the jacket fit you just well.

The Burnett Parka has a rather unique hood. It has a stretchy soft external shell, and it is lined with fleece inside. The hood is very comfortable and soft, but it’s not the best for keeping you dry and cold during snow and rain. It is removable though, which makes it easy to pair this coat with a helmet.

You can’t remove the hood, but you can remove the coyote fur ruff. This parka also features a chin guard lined with tricot, for extra warmth and protection. Perfect for those times when you just don’t feel like wearing a scarf!

One thing I love about this jacket is that it has internal backpack straps. This allows you to carry the jacket on your back, which is extremely convenient when indoors. Especially since this is a long and heavy jacket, and really annoying to carry around in your arms.

There are two types of cuffs on the Lorette parka. The external cuffs are adjustable, and the internal cuffs are ribbed to lock in the heat. In addition to that, this jacket also features a back vent with a snap closure, which lets you adjust your range of motion.

You get a total of four pockets on this Canada Goose parka. Two are external hand warming pockets, and the other two are internal. One internal pocket has a zipper closure, while the other one is a drop-in media pocket.
