Best Tumi Backpack Review: A Deep Dive into Luxury Luggage

Tumi Voyageur Ursula T-Pass Backpack

The first thing you’ll notice about the Tumi Women’s Voyageur Ursula T-Pass Backpack is how sexy it is. Gold zippers around a smooth black ballistic nylon with a leather top handle make your eyes pop and your mouth water a little.

This stylish women’s Tumi Voyageur backpack is the perfect work and travel companion. The main compartment is spacious with a grey lining to help you find what you’re looking for easily. Inside the main compartment is a pocket against the back made for a tablet and two smaller pockets on the front. This helps keep all your little ‘nik-naks’ organized and easily accessible.

On the front of the bag is an especially designed T-pass laptop compartment that allows you to go through airports without having to remove your laptop, simply unzip and fold-out your laptop for screening without having to unpack it. How awesome is that!

The Tumi laptop backpack also features a water-resistant side pocket for a water bottle, another side zip pocket, an easy access phone pocket with a magnetic snap, and a sleeve so you can slot this backpack over your suitcase handle.

The Tumi backpack also comes with Tumi Tracer which is a tracker ID for your bag in case you lose it.

Overall an amazing travel/work bag that’s comfortable, spacious, pretty, and exceptionally functional.

TUMI Women's Voyageur Carson Laptop Backpack

Another sexy little Tumi backpack is the Women’s Voyageur Carson Laptop Backpack. This is very similar to the Ursula above and the most noticeable difference is the lack of the T-pass laptop compartment.

This Tumi laptop backpack is also made for ladies on the go. It holds all your daily essentials, your laptop, and a clean pair of clothes. It’s super light, comfortable to wear, and has some seriously good looks.

The layout of this Tumi bag is something to die for. At the back is the specifically designed laptop compartment. Your laptop will slide in and out with ease, and is protected by the back pad and the contents of your main compartment in front.

The main compartment is spacious enough and features a zipper pocket for valuables, a tablet slot, and a smaller slot for small things like pens and makeup.

There is also a phone pocket on the outside with a magnetic snap, a side zipper pocket, and a water-resistant side zipper pocket for damp clothes or your water bottle.

This Tumi laptop backpack also comes with the ‘add-a-bag’ sleeve to slot it into your suitcase handle and Tumi Trace. It’s an awesome bag that’s worth every penny and the only complaints are that the straps are a bit long and need a lot of tightening.

TUMI Women's Voyageur Just In Case Backpack

This is the least expensive Tumi bag around and that’s because it’s designed to be ready and waiting inside a different Tumi bag, just in case you need it. The Tumi Women’s Voyageur Just In Case Backpack is designed for those moments when you need an extra bag but don’t really want to have to carry around an empty one all day.

This Tumi backpack weighs just over half a pound and packs down to the size of an envelope. It’s the perfect traveling companion for when you want a bag for some extra goodies you’ve stumbled upon or when you want to pick up some yummy ingredients on your way home from work.

It comes with a large main compartment and a small front zipper pocket plus an ‘add-a-bag’ sleeve for when you’re check-in luggage is overweight and you need to sneak some things into your handle luggage allowance.

You’d think because it’s so compactable that it might be uncomfortable to wear but it’s actually a delight to wear, keeping to true Tumi style. This is truly a ladies ‘just-in-case’ best friend.

TUMI Alpha Bravo Navigation Laptop Backpack

This is the first of a few Unisex bags from Tumi in this review. The Tumi Alpha Bravo Navigation Laptop Backpack is made for work, travel, or school with some extra space for a wee adventure.

The bag, like all Tumi backpacks, is made to an exceptionally high quality and is riddled with storage areas for anything you might want to bring along. It also comes with Tumi Tracer and an ‘add-a-bag’ sleeve.

The Tumi Alpha Bravo backpack features an expandable main compartment for carrying some extra clothing for those long weekends, a specific laptop compartment, two front zipper pockets,  two side pockets (one that’s water-resistant), an easy-access back pocket with a magnetic snap that’s perfect for your phone plus a leather grab handle.

You wouldn’t think you could get much more but within all those pockets there’s a padded laptop pocket (for 15-6 inch laptops), a padded tablet pocket, media pockets, and a key leash. There’s even a thieve-fooling hidden pocket on the back panel.

All in all, it’s almost impossible to be disorganized when you use this backpack, there is literally a place for everything.

The only drawbacks of this Tumi backpack are that it’s a bit small and the zips jingle as you walk around, which could drive you a little crazy.

If you like to carry a bit extra and be super organized, this might be the bag for you, it’s not quite as good-looking as other Tumi backpacks, although the fun range of colors they have used does help.

Alternatively: You could check out the Tumi Search Backpack which is a little cheaper and has a larger U-zip for the laptop/tablet sleeve which is easier to access. In general though, it is very similar to the Navigation backpack.

TUMI Alpha Bravo London Roll Top

The Tumi Alpha Bravo London Roll-Top backpack takes things to the next level in terms of a weekend away or long business trips away from home.

It’s been purposefully designed to hold everything you’ll need for work and your daily life as well as being able to store enough for those fun weekends at the beach or three-day workshops abroad.

It features all the little pockets you’d expect along with a large expandable roll-top main compartment for the extra’s you need to overnight somewhere. The main compartment is opened from the top with a zipper and you simply roll it down to compact it.

There is a laptop compartment behind it that can be accessed from the outside or through a zipper wall in the main compartment too.

There is a front zippered pocket, two U zippered pockets (one is water-resistant), and a side zipper pocket. Within all the compartments is a place for your phone, tablet, cards, keys, and more.

The bag also comes with Tumi Tracer and an ‘add-a-bag’ sleeve. This big Tumi backpack is, however, a little too large for some, especially if you’re petit. The zipper can often snag too. Other than that, it’s an excellent compromise between a weekend travel and work backpack.

Tumi Unisex Alpha 3 Brief Pack

Another sleek-looking backpack that has professional air to it. The Tumi Unisex Alpha 3 Brief Pack looks a little manly for a unisex back but it still remains stylishly inoffensive for any gender.

Designed for working professionals on the go, this Tumi backpack is durable, beautifully made, and has space to keep all your belongings organized.m You can focus on your busy life and not have to worry about finding your keys or anything else in those annoying moments.

The bag comes with dedicated pockets and compartments for your laptop and Ipad, a key leash as well as a whole host of other storage options. The main compartment is large enough to hold a change of clothes or books if you’re going to study.

The side zip pockets are large enough for a water bottle and one of the pockets is water-resistant to give you a wet clothes storage area. There’s also a further three zip-up pockets on the front.

This bag comes with Tumi-Tracer, like most Tumi backpacks, this helps to track your bags if they’re lost. More info on that can be found in the buying guide.

Overall a great Tumi backpack and the only flaw is that the zippers can catch on the fabric occasionally.

Tumi Men's Tahoe Crestview Backpack

This is the first of the true men’s bags in this review and we’re starting with the best in my opinion. The Tumi Men’s Tahoe Crestview Backpack is made to everything, every day.

This Tumi backpack is not only perfect for work and long weekends but it’s also made to be perfect as a hiking day pack or camping backpack. Like all other Tumi bags, it’s well made and has excellently laid out storage options but this one is a little different.

It comes with a sewn-in water-proof rain cover and webbing all across the front to hang extra accessories too. This is what makes it a bag that can venture out of the city and workplace and have a little adventure in the wild.

There’s a dedicated laptop compartment at the back, the main compartment, a front zipper pocket, a magnet back slip pocket, and an earphone pocket on the shoulder strap.  Within all these are pen loops, cardholders, open pockets, and a key leash. You won’t struggle to find a place for everything in this.

The shoulder straps and padded back mesh make the backpack very comfortable to wear and hike with. The bag also features Tumi Trace and an ‘add-a-bag’ sleeve to make your travels easier.

It’s a beautiful, practical, and functional bag that was born in the city but want’s to grow up in the woods. Perfect for every day and any weekend.

Tumi Men's Alpha Bravo Sheppard Deluxe Backpack

Tumi Men’s Alpha Bravo Sheppard Deluxe Backpack is a small, light backpack that’s perfect for the office. It’ll hold everything you need for work and some, so you can take your gym clothes with you too.

The shoulder straps and back are padded for extra comfort and all the pockets are easily accessible. The backpack comes with Tumi Tracer and an ‘add-a-bag’ sleeve for comfort while traveling.

Another awesome bag from Tumi, if you’re a working professional this bag is right up your street.

Tumi Alpha Bravo Davis Backpack

Small and compact, the Tumi Alpha Bravo Davis Backpack is made for commuting or as carry-on luggage while traveling. It’s small enough to be light and practical while still having enough space for everything you need.

There are specific compartments on this Tumi laptop backpack. One for your laptop, your iPad, and phone leaving the rest of the bag to be used for other important things like your lunch, change of clothes, cards, keys, and more.

There are three small pockets on the front, one main compartment, and another laptop and Ipad compartment. There are no side pockets on the Tumi Alpha Bravo Davis, so no handy water bottle space.

It’s made from high-quality materials that’ll last the wear and tear of everyday life and it’s comfortable as hell to wear. The only drawback is that the zips jingle which could drive you mad while you wander around.

Overall smaller, easier backpack than the rest, made to be organized and out the way. It also comes with Tumi Tracer and an ‘add-a-bag’ sleeve to help you on your travels.
