Walkabout 87 is the largest roof top tent 23zero manufactures. It boasts an 87” x 96” mattress that can comfortably sleep five people, making this tent the best option for families of campers. It’s worth noting that the mattress is the entire tent, and there’s plenty of room inside.

The mattress is 3” thick – it’s very comfortable, but it’s still thin enough that the tent easily folds into place when being stored. It’s also got a waterproof base and a cotton top, for the most comfortable sleeping experience regardless of the weather conditions. There’s no condensation mat underneath the mattress, but it really isn’t necessary thanks to that waterproof base.

The Walkabout 87 tent also features Skyview panels (windows), that allow you to dictate just how much light you want to allow inside the tent. You can open them up fully to do some stargazing at night or keep them closed to keep the light and heat out of the tent.

The sleeping area is accessible with a collapsible ladder. It’s a sturdy ladder that’s surprisingly comfortable to climb – most people don’t even consider this, but when you’re climbing the ladder several times a day, comfortable steps are important.

One of the best features of this awesome roof top tent is its effortless setup and takedown. It takes some 5-10 minutes to set up the tent for the first time, and once you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to complete the setup in less than five minutes. Takedown is a bit trickier – instead of doing it in five, it might take you even six or seven minutes!

The entire tent features UV protective coating on the exterior of the fabric and even on the travel cover. This means that the colors of your tent won’t fade, even if they are exposed to sunlight 24/7. The compression straps of the travel cover are the only part of the tent without UV-resistant coating, so they’re the only parts that will fade due to sunlight exposure.

The Breezeway features a 3” Thick Sleep Comfort mattress with a waterproof base and a cotton top. It’s very comfortable, but it could stand to be an inch or two thicker. It’s not thicker because the mattress folds over when the tent is closed, and a thicker mattress would make the closed tent much bulkier.

This four-season tent boasts an internal aluminum frame with insulating foam, for excellent performance in all conditions. It also has an aluminum telescoping ladder that’s easy to set up and comfortable to climb, so it’s never tricky to get inside the sleeping area.

The fabric of the tent and the travel cover both feature UV-resistant coating, so that the colors don’t fade due to exposure to sunlight. The Breezeway is just as easy to set up and take down as the Walkabout, plus it’s made from the same durable materials. The key differences between the two 23zero roof top tents are size and weight, which in turn impact the price, making the Breezeway 72 the more affordable option.
