Best RV Camping On Oregon Coast
Oregon’s coastline is to some, the most beautiful coastline in the United States. Driving down the coastal roads will have you passing through ancient forests, turquoise blue waterfalls, dramatic cliffs, stunning beaches, and quaint seaside towns where delicious seafood is the norm. Not to mention the daily amazing views of the sunset falling into the sea.
There’s so much to do on the Oregon coast that it’s hard to know where to start. You can spend days at the beach relaxing, swimming, surfing and fishing. Head into the seaside towns to sample the clam chowder, enjoy the piers and arcades, and of course, the saltwater taffy. And there are loads of hiking trails to choose from too.
Oregon’s coast is also well equipped for any RV camping adventure with a load of campgrounds to choose from, but which ones are going to make your RV vacation the best it can be? We’ve rustled up the best RV camping on the Oregon coast, so you can make sure your RV camping trip is as good as possible.

Oregon Coast Rv Resort

The Oregon Coast RV Resort sits on the banks of the Umpqua River just outside of the Umpqua Lighthouse State Park. The park is completely forested making the setting quite magical. You get a loving sense of peace and nature, plus there is loads to do on your doorstep.
If you’re into fishing, then bring your rods as you couldn’t be better positioned to catch salmon, bass, chinook, and even steelhead in the Umpqua River. There are professional guides available upon request and you can even higher gear if you don’t have any.
Just 5 minutes walk from the RV park is the beautiful Ziolkouski Beach Park where you can spend your days building sandcastles, swimming, surfing, and enjoying a sunset or two. Just down the road is Winchester Bay & Marina. It’s a quaint little town with waterside restaurants, little shops, and the best place to buy some fresh fish for an evening BBQ if you have caught your own already.
Outside of fishing and shopping, you can explore the Oregon sand dunes recreation area. It’s full of hiking trails, horseback riding, canoeing, and more. And then there is the Umpqua Lighthouse State Park that offers numerous hiking trails and magical views over the Pacific Ocean.
The RV resort has all the amenities you might need including full sewer, cable, 30 amp hookup, wifi, restrooms, showers, laundry, and an onsite store. The sites are open and spacious and you can pick a private site if you want some seclusion on your trip.

McKinley’s Marina & RV Park is on the banks of the Alsea River and just a few minute’s walk from the white sands of Wakonda Beach. Being a marina and an RV park they have a launch for your own private boat, and you can even rent one of their boats to enjoy crabbing and fishing in the river.
You’ll find tons of things to do in the local area with hiking trails that go along the Oregon coast as far as the eye can see along with opportunities for kayaking, canoeing, boating, and of course fishing. There are also great places for some fine seafood dining, bars, casinos, cute little shops, and a whole lot more.
If you love your history and culture you’ll find a ton of museums and historical sites to visit including the old Heceta Lighthouse, Waldport Museum, and the Hatfield Marine Science Center. As you can see, the local area is full of things to do that’ll any and all friends and family interests.
The RV park has sites suitable for every size RV from a big rig to fifth wheels. Each site is on the waterfront you can enjoy the views over the river come with all the amenities you could want. Whalers Rest RV Campground won the TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Award in 2020 and you can see why. Their location along with the amazing amenities, onsite activities, and more make it one of the best RV camping grounds in Oregon, and maybe the USA.
Located just a 5 minutes walk from a white sand beach and in amongst a forest, you feel like you’ve left the business of the city behind the moment you arrive at Whalers Rest. There are loads to do once you’re there including surfing, fishing, beachcombing, whale watching, and even scuba diving.
And for those of you who are sea-goers, you can enjoy the indoor pool, visit the Oregon Aquarium, relax at the Spa, go to dinner at local restaurants, try your luck at the casino, or hike the miles and miles of trails that surround the spectacular coastline.
Each RV site at the RV Park has a full hookup for water, sewer power plus restrooms, showers, laundry, and picnic areas. There’s a business center on-site along with bike/hiking trails, swimming pools, playgrounds, a library. tennis courts, and loads more to keep everyone happy and entertained.

Sea & Sand RV Park is one of the best RV camping spots on the central Oregon coast if you’re looking for a spectacular sea view to wake up to every morning. The RV sites are terraced along the beachfront so no matter where you park, you’ll be able to see the sunset over the Pacific each day and be just a few minutes walk from the 7 miles of white sandy beach on your doorstep.
The local area offers something for everyone. If you love the ocean you can spend your days spotting grey whales that migrate down the coast, book a whale watching tour, head out deep sea fishing, go scuba diving, surfing, or just hand out and be a beach bum making sandcastles and taking a refreshing dip in the ocean.
If you’re into freshwater fishing there are loads of rivers and creeks in the area where you can catch salmon, steelhead, and trout. You can rent gear, hire pro guides, and if you’re a beginner, your guide will spend the day teaching you how to catch these beautiful and delicious fish.
Outside of water-based activities, the local town is teaming with restaurants, shops, aquariums, and there’s an 18 hole golf course too. You can also spend your days hiking down the coastline for some of the most magical views of the Oregon coast.

Pacific City RV & Camping Resort couldn’t be better placed if you’re looking to spend some time in nature. The RV park is set amongst tall ancient trees and has nature trails running right through it that connect you to miles of white sand beach and coastal hiking trails, right from your RV.
Onsite you’ll have access to a huge range of activities including an indoor pool, mini-golf, spa, hot tub, playgrounds, an outdoor pool picnic areas, and much more. Outside of the park, you can enjoy horse riding, whale watching, surfing, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and anything else that’s water-based you can think of.
The local town is a short drive away and offers delicious restaurants, fun bars, and shops to spend your days exploring. And just outside of the camping ground are stunning sand dunes to hike around, clamming and crabbing areas, tidal pools, and more.
Each RV site comes fully equipped with electric, sewer, and water hookups. There’s also wifi, cable TV, laundry, showers, restrooms, picnic areas, and campfires are allowed so you can cook up some Smores and enjoy some warmth in the cooler evenings.
If you’re traveling with kids they’ll have plenty of games to get involved in at the camping ground. There is a basketball court, pickleball, bocce ball, horseshoes, and a playground.
Seaside RV Resort

Seaside Rv Resort is the most northern RV resort in Oregon, just near the Washington State border. Set just a few hundred yards back from sunset beach in amongst grassy fields and pine trees, Seaside RV Resort offers beautiful surroundings with access to everything local by foot.
A short walk from the resort will find yourself on miles and mile of white sand beaches that are perfect to hike along, clam, crab, fish, or just relax and have a refreshing swim on. If you’re there in the season you’ll also be able to spot grey whales from the beach as they begin their migration north or south.
You can also book deep sea fishing trips to go try to catch a halibut or two, and there is plenty of freshwater fishing from trout, salmon, and steelhead in the area too. Local guides and equipment hire are available in the area and if you haven’t learned how to fly fish yet, there isn’t a better place to start than in Oregon.
A few minutes from the Oregon Coast camping ground are numerous golf courses and the town of Seaside. Seaside is about as quaint as a seaside town could get with charming little shops, seafood restaurants, bars, markets, an aquarium, museums, and a whole lot more. The town spans the beachfront and the estuary and is a lovely town to wander around when the suns out.
The RV resort is also loaded with amenities from indoor pools to saunas, shops, tennis courts, spas, a library, and numerous hiking trails that follow the coast. Each RV site comes with an electric, water, and sewer hookup and you can enjoy the other amenities like hot showers, laundry, restrooms, wifi, playgrounds, and a whole lot more.
Hammond Marina RV Park

Hammond Marina RV Park sits right on the Washing and Oregon State border and is a favorite RV park for fishermen thanks to its proximity to the marina. Within minutes you can have your fishing boat on the boat ramp, launched and ready to go, and catch some salmon when in season. In fact, returning fishermen can even get their own moorings in front of the RV park, saving having to pull their boat out each day.
If fishing isn’t you’re thing, don’t be worried, there are plenty of other things to do when staying at Hammond Marina RV Park. There are lovely beaches down the road to spend your days on, and the cute little town of Hammond has some quaint but delicious restaurants that are well worth trying out.
Fort Stevens state park, along the Columbia River, is just up the road and is full of hiking and biking trails, and it offers some of the most stunning views across the Pacific Ocean. The Columbia River is also on your doorstep and offers canoeing, kayaking, and some beautiful riverside walks that should not be missed. You can also book whale watching trips, fly fishing lessons, surfing lessons and a whole lot more.
The RV park itself is pretty small and each RV site comes with full hookups for sewer, water, and electricity plus cable TV and wifi. The site is pretty basic overall and very affordable but doesn’t offer much in the way of extras like hot showers, swimming pools, etc.
Other Oregon Coast Options
Oregon’s coast was made for an RV adventure and with so many great RV Parks to choose from, it’s one of the best states to head to for an RV vacation, especially if you love nature, the ocean, and all the activities that come with it.
Here are some other options we have not mentioned above:
Harris Beach State Park
One of the best, and the most southern campground on the Oregon coast, Harris Beach State Park is stunning. It features the largest island on the Oregon coast, which is also a wildlife sanctuary. There are rare birds and beautiful sandy beaches along with tide pools to enjoy.
Sunset Bay State Park
Offering some of the best sunsets on the Oregon coast, the Sunset Bay State Park is a great spot to spend a few days hiking and camping.
Nehalem Bay State Park
With over 200 electrical sites, and located smack bang right on a sand dune, Nehalem Bay State Park is another gem of a campsite on the Oregon coast. They also have yurts if you are not with your RV or have friends along.
Humbug Mountain State Park
Right at the bottom of Humbug Mountain no less, Humbug Mountain State Park offers some of the warmest weather on the entire Oregon coast and has wind protection because of its location. It’s on the Southern Oregon Coast too, to give you a little context.
