Here, we’re going to explore one of their top products, the Boundary Supply Errant. This backpack is perfectly suited to life in the city thanks to its sleek design and organizational capacity.
However, it’s incredibly durable too and we certainly wouldn’t hesitate to take it on an outdoor adventure when you need some time away from busy city life. So, let’s take a closer look at what makes this versatile backpack so special.

The Boundary Supply Errant pack is made tough to keep up with the busy lives we all lead in this day and age – but what is it actually made of? Boundary has used an impressive range of high-end materials for this one, so we’ll take a look at the most important ones below.
The material used for the sides of the Errant is 500D Kodra woven with nylon 6,6. Overall, this results in a super-strong nylon fabric with excellent resistance to abrasions. Nylon repels water in its own right but, for added protection, this fabric has been treated with a durable water repellent (DWR) coating.
The center panel on the front of the pack and the bottom panel are constructed from 420 High Tenacity Hypalon, which is essentially an incredibly durable rubber. As well as being waterproof and abrasion-resistant, this material is also incredibly easy to wipe clean – perfect if your commute involves public transport.
Some parts of the bag, particularly on the interior, are constructed from 210 Nylon Kodra. This is slightly softer than the nylon used on the sides, but it’s been treated with Boundary’s barrier DWR so it can still withstand scrapes and spillage. There’s also a high-performance stretch mesh constructed from nylon used for the interior pockets.
Notably, all of these materials are approved by BLUESIGN, a company that works to improve the environmental impact of fabrics in the textile industry.
The YKK zippers are durable and water-resistant, plus most are covered with some kind of guard to keep that pesky water out. This bag also features magnetic locks for some compartments, and there’s foam padding on the back panel and on the shoulder straps for comfort. Woojin plastic has been used for the buckles and a few other spots, but overall there’s very little plastic in this bag.
So how does the bag stand up in terms of overall durability? Pretty well! The vast majority of the bag is constructed from tough abrasion-resistant materials that also repel water.
Plus, the DWR coating and waterproof zippers increase the water resistance of the pack further, so you don’t need to worry while you head for cover if you get caught in a downpour. This bag is certainly more durable than your average high-street bag and looks a lot better than most bags with this degree of durability.

With a 24L capacity, there’s plenty of room for all your gear in the Errant. But if you’re going to be lugging that kind of weight around on a daily basis, then you need to make sure your pack is comfortable. Fortunately, the Errant exhibits many features to provide comfort that are usually reserved for hiking packs, so let’s see what they are.
The bank panel on the Boundary Supply Errant is constructed from thick LFT foam. While this foam provides excellent padding and adds some structure to help spread the weight of your load evenly, the back panel also features a quick-dry air channel that isn’t in contact with your back and enables ventilation, which is great if you want to avoid arriving at work with a sweaty back. Plus, the mesh on the top of the foam further increases the airflow around your back.

We love that the Errant comes with a sternum strap – a feature that’s often omitted from high-street backpacks yet makes all the difference to your comfort levels when you’re carrying a heavy load. However, on days when you’re traveling light, you have the option to get rid of the sternum strap altogether – nice!
Oh, and the sternum strap itself, as well as both of the shoulder straps, are adjustable too, so you can be sure to get the perfect fit. There are also tie-down straps on the back panel for keeping the shoulder straps nice and tight, which stops your pack from moving around as much.
There’s also an optional weight belt that you can adjust to fit your torso shape. Granted, the straps aren’t quite as thick as those you’d find on a hiking pack, but we’re certainly glad that they’re there.

Sometimes you get sick of carrying things on your back and want to mix things up a bit, and that’s why the errant features a side handle so you can carry this pack like a briefcase – perfect if you want to cool off or give your shoulders a break. There’s a standard handle on the top too for easy maneuvering or storage.
Overall, we were pleasantly surprised to see so many ergonomic features on a bag this stylish. The back panel is super comfortable and well-ventilated, and adjustable shoulder and sternum straps combined with a hip belt means that you really can get the perfect fit. And if you don’t like the look of these straps – simply take them off – winning.

The Errant comes fully equipped with all the features you need to grab what you want when you need it. On the outside of the bag, there’s a water bottle holder and a hose clip for when you need a drink on the go, lash straps for securing extra bits of gear, and we love the large zipper that lets you grab your laptop without entering the main compartment.

There are also two secure pockets on the back panel for your valuables and a small fleece-lined pocket on the front of the pack. The separate compartment at the bottom of the bag is ideal for smelly gym shoes, or anything else you don’t want contaminating the rest of your gear.
Plus, the main compartment itself can be accessed via a large u-shaped zipper, so you can see everything at once and don’t have to root around for what you need.

The interior of the Errant offers an exceptional amount of organizational features. On the backside, there are two stretch side pockets for water bottles or snacks, plus a large half-moon-shaped zippered section at the top. On the front-facing side, there’s a 15-inch laptop compartment, a tablet compartment, an organizational section with tonnes of extra pockets for pens, chargers, and other items.

One of the best things about this bag, however, is that it’s compatible with 18 modular accessories, so you really can customize this bag to your precise needs. This includes a whole array of items that can be attached to or stored in the bag. Essentially, you take the base bag and add items you need. This includes such things as
And there are a whole lot more.

The Errant offers a unique combination of functionality, durability and stylish appearance, but this does come at a price – it will certainly set you back more than a high-street bag or hiking daypack of a similar size. However, we think that the clever design and high-end, ethical materials, are worth the investment, plus it comes with a lifetime warranty too.
The add-ons we aren’t so sure about… yes, they do mean you can customize the interior of your pack and they are very cool, but they seriously raise the price. But if you’re happy to buy the standard bag and find cheaper alternatives for internal organization, then we think the cost is acceptable for such a high-quality, stylish backpack.
With a rating of 92, the Boundary Supply Errant has performed well against our rating system.
The only place it really didn’t hit top marks was the value for money department. Even though it’s built of super durable ethical materials, it would be nice if it was a little easier on the pocket. Plus, the add-ons are very pricey, so it lost another point for that. However, it’s still a high-quality, versatile backpack, and overall, we were very impressed.
So, do we recommend the Boundary Supply Errant pack? Definitely! Whether you work in an office and you’re always carrying your laptop and gym gear around, or you’re a creative with tonnes of photography gear to manage, this bag will make your life a lot easier.
It’s got a decent capacity, tonnes of pockets, and it’s extremely comfortable… yet it’s retained a sleek, stylish appearance – what more could you ask for in an inner-city bag?
