Changing the batteries is easy, even when it’s mounted on the ceiling. There is a panel on the front the opens up for a fast change over.

This unit detects both smoke and CO levels, and when the levels get too high sounds a loud alarm and a voice comes on stating fire or CO so you know what you’re dealing with.

There is one button for testing and silencing a false alarm, which does happen occasionally. You can also push the button for a readout of the highest CO level, but it only lets you know it went over 100ppm.

For the price and the 5-year warranty, this is as good an RV caron monoxide detector as any in our eyes.

This carbon monoxide detector is CSA safety certified, sounds a loud alarm when CO levels get too high, and it runs on AA batteries, so there is no need to hook it up to your RV battery bank.

There is a digital display that reads out the CO levels for you, and 3 different light indicators so you always know the detector’s status.

A green light means it’s working fine, a red light is a low battery warning, and a red flashing light goes off with the alarm if the CO levels are too high.

There is a  test/reset button on the RV CO detector to check the alarm works and to reset it after an alarm has gone off. This particular detector doesn’t have many false alarms, so you shouldn’t have to reset it often.

You’ll find a test/reset button which can you can press to test the alarm works and to reset it in case of any false alarms, which do happen occasionally.

The unit will let you know when it’s time to be replaced or when the batteries need replacing by chirping quietly.

The batteries should last 10 years, along with the unit, but in some cases, the batteries need changing after 4 months and the detector after 2 years.

This RV carbon monoxide detector does come with a 7-year warranty, so if the unit dies before that, they’ll ship you a new one free of charge.

In theory, this makes life a lot easier as you won’t have to swap out batteries at all. In most cases, the batteries last at least 5 years, but some have found them to last less than 1.

The detector sounds an alarm for both smoke and CO, and it has a digital readout of both the CO levels and battery life, so you always know where you’re at.

There’s also an indicator light that changes color based on the situation. Green is good, yellow means a fault, and red goes with the loud alarm.

You’ll find a test/reset button for checking it works and turning it off when there are false alarms, which are uncommon. It can go off in the kitchen when frying steaks though.

Unlike other RV CO detectors, this unit can be mounted anywhere and comes with an adhesive patch, so installing it requires simply sticking it to your RV.

It has an LCD readout for both the battery life and CO levels, so you always know where you’re at, and when the levels get too high the alarm goes off in the form of vibrations and a flashing red light.

If you’re a heavier sleeper, this might not wake you up and it’s better used on the dash when driving and by your bed when sleeping.

Overall, this is an expensive RV CO detector that doesn’t sound a loud enough alarm in our eyes. But, if you need something super sensitive and portable for work, then it’s not a bad option.
