PRODUCT COMPARISON
Sorel Cheyanne
L.L. Bean Boots
Wondering which is better – Sorel or LL Bean boots?
Sorel is well known for their warm winter boots because they have been making them for decades. But lately, they have been branching out into more stylish boots, even for men. Boots like the Cheyanne, are great for winter and still shine when you are out in town.
LL Bean started making duck boots back in 1912, so it is no surprise that they also have some awesome winter boots that rival Sorel.
In this comparison post I am going to show you what Duck Boots these two companies have to offer for men, and how they compare. In detail.
Overall, the Sorel Cheyanne and the L.L. Bean boots are quite similar in look and design.
They both have a lace-up full-grain leather upper, that is waterproof.
They also have a rubber lower section that is sealed so that you can splash around in the rain or snow/slush in winter.
The soles are slightly different, but they both offer decent rubber grip in slippery conditions.
At least as good as you can get without metal spikes on your feet :>
The main difference between the boots, apart from a few small things in the style, is that Sorel focuses on warmth with a Thinsulate lining in the boots, whereas L.L Bean focuses on locally made (made in Maine USA) high-quality materials.
That means that Sorel typically costs less too (not always, but often).
LL Bean Boots also have a more polished look, in most cases. So are more for someone wanting a boot they can head out in, but still stay dry. Sorel focuses more on the outdoor enthusiast.
Sorel and LL Bean have also both created a nice Chelsea-style duck boot that is worth taking a look at too. I love this kind of boot, maybe because I grew up with them in Australia. But the flexible elastic on the side really makes them a joy to get on and off, which if you are in a rush or just hate having to lace your shoes for 5 minutes before heading out, is perfect!
