Promate Scuba Dive Snorkel Titanium Knife

Promate Sharp Tip Titanium Dive Knife, Green, KF593

The Promate Scuba Dive Snorkel Titanium Dive Knife is probably the best dive knife you are going to find when it comes to all-around use and value too.

Being made from titanium instead of steel makes the blade incredibly strong and resistant to rust which means close to zero maintenance. In all honesty, it shouldn’t rust at all and will just need a quick freshwater rinse after each use.

The blade comes with a sharp tip, serrated and plain edge, plus a line cutter to boot. This means that whatever you are faced with while scuba diving, this knife has the tool for the job. There is even a hammer on the handle for crushing or breaking things.

The sheath is excellent, the handle is grippy, and the blade is sharp, but does need honing out of the box.

As far as dive knives go, this dive knife is pretty incredible and the fact that it is made from titanium and is so affordable makes it an amazing value for money. It will last for years and years!

Pros

  • Tough titanium blade
  • Handles corrosion very well
  • Straight and serrated blade
  • Line cutting notch
  • Titanium hammer at base

  • Extremely sharp blade edge

Best Of The Best

Scubapro Mako Titanium Knife

SCUBAPRO Mako Titanium Scuba Diving Knife with 3.5-Inch Blade, Includes Locking Sheath and BCD Mounting Kit

The best dive knife on the market, in my opinion, is the Scubapro Mako Titanium Dive Knife. Again, being made from titanium, the blade is a lot tougher than stainless steel and therefore will survive much longer in salty conditions, even without any care.

The blade features everything you need from a sharp tip to a serrated and plain cutting edge, plus a line cutter and there is even a bottle opener/hammer on the bottle of the handle. You will be able to easily cut line, wire, rope, and be able to ward off any over interested predators too!

The handle on these dive knives is designed to make life easy and the sheath has a very reliable one touch locking mechanism. This makes accessing and using your dive knife very simple and effective.

This is also a compact diving knife that is light and mounts comfortably anywhere using the included mounting gear.

The only downside to this awesome dive knife is that it is a bit expensive but considering the quality and long lasting durability, it is worth every penny.

Pros

  • Super tough titanium blade
  • Very corrosion resistant
  • Two edges, straight and serrated back edge
  • Line cutter and bottle opener
  • Very sharp and cuts with ease
  • Reliable sheath locking mechanism
  • Grippy and comfortable handle
  • Easy to use underwater
  • Plastic handle won’t corrode
  • Very lightweight
  • All mounting gear included

Best On A Budget

Cressi Skorpion Knife

Cressi Skorpion Knife, Point Tip Gray

If you are shopping for dive knives on a tight budget then the Cressi Skorpion Knife will be right up your street. These dive knives are built from quality stainless steel, are great at cutting, very affordable, and all you need to do is take care of them so they last.

The blade on this dive knife is made from AISI 304 steel which means it has a very sharp edge but only resists corrosion to a point. Just give it a freshwater rinse, dry it off, and lubricate it after each dive and it will never fail you.

The blade has all the features you need from a diving knife with sharp tips, serrated and plain edges, plus a line cutter to boot. The cutting edge is excellent so you can get through larger things like rope when you need to. Oh, there is a hammer on the base too!

It comes with a durable grippy handle, an excellent sheath that locks well, and it is simple to sharpen. It amazes me that this compact dive knife is so affordable but being a stainless steel knife, it does need some care after each dive as I mentioned above.

Pros

  • Includes a straight & serrated edge
  • Handy line cutting notch
  • Super sharp for easy cutting
  • Sharp blade tip
  • One hand release sheath
  • Easy to sharpen

XS Scuba FogCutter X Knife

XS Scuba FogCutter X Clip Point for Scuba Diving

Another of our favorite scuba knives that didn’t quite make into the top 3 is the XS Scuba FogCutter X Knife.

This fixed blade compact knife comes with a quality 420 stainless steel Chromate blade that is tough as nails, very sharp, and has a feature no other knife featured has. The blade actually opens so you can use it as shears/scissors, which makes cutting lines very easy.

The blade is also partially serrated, has a line cutting notch, a straight edge, and a hammer to boot. It is safe to say this knife has scuba divers covered no matter the situation and you can choose to have it as a sharp or blunt tip.

The secure grip is easy to use and built from fiberglass-reinforced nylon for durability. It also includes rubber straps and a sheath so you can add it to your scuba gear with ease. Just be sure to tether it to your scuba gear or sheath as it can release from the sheath on its own.

Pros

  • Also has a straight edge
  • Built from tough stainless steel
  • Very corrosion resistant

Tusa x-Pert II Titanium Knife

Tusa FK-940ti X-Pert II Knife Red

Tusa x-Pert II Titanium Dive Knife is another great knife for any scuba diver who likes to own top-quality diving equipment that lasts.

Being made from top-quality titanium, it is tough as nails and great for diving or spear fishing but it is a tad expensive. You can put it in your BCD pocket or use the sheath and straps to strap it on to you.

The sheath is excellent, very reliable, and with one touch of a button, the knife is released for use. The ergonomic grip makes working underwater easily and the blade has all the features you need for all occasions.

There is a serrated section on one side of the fixed blade, line cutting notches, and a normal edge too. The knife is super sharp and will get through tough materials like fishing nets, and thick and thin ropes. The only thing missing is a steel pommel on the bottom for crushing.

Spyderco Atlantic Folding Dive Knife

Spyderco Atlantic Salt Lightweight Knife with 3.68' Corrosion Resistant LC200N Sheepfoot Blade and Durable Black FRN Handle - PlainEdge - C89FPGR

The Spyderco Atlantic Folding Dive Knife is a bit different from all the other knives featured as it is a foldable knife. The folding design means you can not use leg straps with it and you will have to use the titanium pocket clip to secure it in your BCD pocket.

Since the knife folds, it can be a challenge to open underwater but once open, it is deadly sharp with a blunt tip. Once open, the lock mechanism holds it in place for serious cutting and being built from LC200N steel it is extremely resistant to rust.

It is missing some features most divers would like though such as a line cutter and a serrated edge, but it is super light and great for use in and out of the water.

Pros

  • Single hand opening
  • Blunt tip for safety
  • Top quality stainless steel
  • Very corrosion resistant
  • Super lightweight
  • Extremely sharp front edge
  • Grippy textured handle
  • Good on and off the water

What To Look For In The Best Dive Knives

Blade Material & Budget

You have two choices when it comes to blade materials and dive knives, titanium and stainless steel, and the better the matrial, the more expensive the knives are going to be.

Titanium is the most expensive material and it is the best too. Titanium doesn’t rust at all, ever, so you are getting a maintenance-free knife but it doesn’t create as sharp an edge as steel, so there is a payoff. Generally speaking, titanium is the way to go if you have the budget for it.

Stainless knives are also excellent and can become incredibly sharp but salt water will affect them eventually. But, with some rising and oiling after each dive, you can keep them looking good as new and they are much more affordable.

Blade Features

You never know what you are going to encounter when diving and your blade needs the right features to handle it all. Line cutting notches make light work of nets and lines, serrated edges saw through ropes, and straight edges cut through everything too. Make sure your dive knife has all of these.

Sharp pointy ends are very useful too as you can stab or prod any creatures who are getting too interested or aggressive.

Handle & Sheath

A handle with a solid grip is paramount to being able to cut things underwater and a good sheath that keeps your knife secure while giving you easy access to it is also very important.
