If you want a reasonably priced option, then this synthetic, polyester-filled hammock-specific underquilt is a worthwhile option. It is rated 40-50F, which is enough for most people sleeping in a hammock! And the shape is designed to be super comfortable as well.

It also packs down into a relatively small drawstring bag, even though it is filled with synthetic insulation. Of course, a down-filled underquilt would be better, but the price is a reasonable alternative.

The weight is also not too bad, at just under 1.5 pounds. So, although it is not the lightest option on the market, it’s reasonable for backpacking. Unless you are doing the John Muir trail that is!

ENO Vulcan Underquilt

The ENO Vulcan Hammock Underquilt is very similar to the Blaze, except that the Vulcan is made of synthetic material. That’s great for two reasons – it’s slightly cheaper, and it’s easier to dry in case the filling gets wet.

Outdoor Vitalis claims that its 800-fill-power down keeps you insulated for down to 30 F (-1 C). However, after some test runs, this will keep you warm down to 40 F (5 C).

As with many of our “best” lists, sometimes, all you really need is a straightforward product that doesn’t have too many bells and whistles. The OneTigris Hammock Underquilt keeps you warm, period.

The simplicity of its design keeps the price tag relatively low, so you can get this very easily. It has a 300T Polyester Pongee Lining for insulation and the standard 20D Ripstop Nylon and Durable Water Repellent. It keeps you warm down to 40 F (5 C) so this three-season underquilt is great for camping, going to the beach, or just hanging in the backyard.

The full-length hammock has a universal fit. It also has a split design at the ends to make sure that it stays in place under your hammock. The quilted design also helps the filling stay put.

Considering the material and filling, the hammock surprisingly weighs 26 oz, which is heavier than some goose-down underquilts.

The bungee cords and suspension kit is not included with the purchase of this product.

A big drawback of this is the quilting. The stitches are arranged in parallel lines across the quilt, which means it doesn’t follow the body’s contour very well. Cold air sometimes slips between the body and the hammock.
