The Coalatree Switchback Shirt is pretty special as it has a ton of insanely awesome features and is made from something you simply would not expect.
This shirt is made from 100% recycled materials which include old coffee grounds and plastic bottles. Each shirt actually has three cups of coffee grounds and 10 plastic bottles inside it which is pretty phenomenal.
The addition of coffee grounds into the shirt actually makes it odor-resistant. The coffee absorbs any odors and continues to do so throughout the life of the shirt. To add to the shirt’s resistance, it is also wrinkle, stain, UV, and water-resistant.
The shirt features a DWR (durable water-repellent) coating which is what makes it both stain and water-resistant so it keeps it clean and you dry at the same time.
The material is also breathable and it is actually proven to reduce your body temperature and keep it cooler – pretty amazing for a shirt made of coffee and plastic bottles.
The shirt is also soft, comfy, looks good, and fits well. It comes in a range of colors and sizes to suit anyone and everyone, plus it has a ton of handy features too.
There is a hidden zipper pocket for valuables, it actually packs into its own pocket for portability, and you can even use it as a pillow when you’re camping.
Overall, this is a pretty amazing shirt and one that is hard to beat. It is a little expensive, but it is worth it when you consider how many awesome features it has. Plus it does remove plastic from the world which is a huge bonus.

Jacques Cousteau Long Sleeve - Black
The Jacques Cousteau Long Sleeve Shirt is more of an ode to conservation than a sustainability marvel like the Coalatree shirt we looked at above.
This is a long sleeve t-shirt that only comes in black and features a picture of Jacques Cousteau on the front of it.
As you probably know, Jacques Cousteau was a pioneer of marine conservation who studied the sea in many of its forms and documented it for all of us to see. He is a bit of a legend and this t-shirt honors him.
Being a Coalatree shirt it is obviously sustainable and this one is made from 100% Organic recycled cotton. The shirt is super soft, comfy, fits well, and looks great too.
For the quality, this is a very affordable shirt, the only downside is that it is only available in black.

Evolution Joggers: Made From Recycled Coffee Grounds
The Coalatree Evolution Joggers are another marvel of recycled sustainability being made from a mixture of Fair Wear® approved polyester, 40% recycled S-Cafe polyester, 3 cups of recycled coffee, and 10 recycled plastic bottles.
Similar to the Coalatree Switchback Shirt, the mixture of materials used on the Coalatree Evolution Joggers gives them some incredible features.
These Coalatree Evolution Joggers are odor-resistant, stain-resistant, and water-resistant. They dry super quickly, ensure you do not smell, and they stay clean no matter what you are up to.
The joggers are also moisture-wicking meaning they actively move moisture away from you, taking your sweat from the inside and making it evaporate in the outside world.
They also feature a zippered pocket where you can store your valuables. The pants then fold into the pocket for portability and can even be used as a pillow while you are traveling.
Generally speaking, these are very soft and comfortable joggers that fit well and look great. But, that is not the case for everyone, as the sizes can be off and the fit uncomfortable for some.
The Coalatree Evolution Joggers are also quite expensive but when you consider all the awesome features they come with, the price does make sense and offers good value.

But, they are not quite the right cut for everyone so try and then return them if you need to.

The first tick boxes that sustainable clothing needs to achieve include the materials and practices used as well as how durable the clothes are.
