Paravel Luggage Review: A Sustainable Luggage Brand

The Aviator Carry-On by Paravel is the brand’s only model of a wheeled suitcase. It’s made from recycled polycarbonate, so you’re getting a bag that’s incredibly tough and durable, but also sustainable at the same time.

In fact, all the materials used in the manufacturing of this suitcase are sustainable. There’s also vegan leather in the accents, recycled aluminum for the handle, Negative Nylon (made from recycled water bottles) inside the case and even recycled zippers.

The PC shell is very durable and impact resistant, while the aluminum wheel handle allows you to effortlessly maneuver the spinner suitcase without too much effort. The double spinner wheels are smooth, silent, and have carbon steel bearings, for excellent durability.

The interior of the Aviator Carry-On features two packing compartments that can be secured and locked with a TSA-friendly three-digit combination lock. Both packing compartments have dividers with additional pockets, so you can keep the interior of your suitcase as organized as you want.

This specific suitcase is available in two other sizes – the 23” Carry-on Plus and the 28” Grand Checked Luggage. If you like the design and features of the standard Aviator Carry-on but would prefer it to be a different size, just know that there are options.

Paravel Aviator Set Plus

The Paravel Aviator Set Plus is great for anyone who needs to seriously upgrade their luggage collection.

This set includes the Aviator Carry-on Plus and the Grand checked luggage, covering your luggage needs on both short and long trips. The two suitcases are identical in terms of features, and the size really is the only difference.

With the Aviator Set Plus, you’re getting two pieces of (recycled) polycarbonate luggage with (recycled) aluminum handles and double-spinner wheels. Each suitcase has a TSA-friendly combination lock, two spacious packing compartments with dividers, vegan leather accents on the exterior, and a removable laundry bag.

The Carry-On Plus has a height of  22.7″, which maximizes the cabin bag allowance on many US airlines. However, airlines in Europe often require cabin luggage to be smaller, so you might want to consider getting the regular Aviator Set if you’re looking for a carry-on suitcase that you can take anywhere in the world.

Paravel Pacific Tote Set Plus

If you’re all about traveling with carry-on luggage, the Pacific Tote Set Plus is an option you need to know about. It includes two pieces of luggage – a tote bag that functions as your personal item on an airplane, and the Aviator Carry-On Plus suitcase that can easily fit a week’s worth of clothes.

The Aviator Carry-On Plus is a fantastic suitcase for trips in the US thanks to the larger size that conforms to the cabin baggage restrictions of most airlines in the United States. The suitcase is durable polycarbonate with a lightweight aluminum handle, double spinner wheels, a TSA-friendly lock, and two spacious packing compartments with dividers and pockets.

The tote is made from vegan leather and canvas. The canvas material is manufactured from post-consumer recycled plastic bottles, and it is stain-repellent, spill-proof, and very durable. It’s a beautiful bag, and I absolutely love that it comes with a detachable shoulder strap, in addition to the classic short tote straps.

The bag also has two smaller pockets near the top, for easy access to must-have items. However, it doesn’t have a lining or any larger pockets, plus you can’t actually close it properly. There’s a clasp that lets you lock the two sides of the bag, but this works only if you use organizers and toiletry bags. If you just put a bunch of small items in the bag, they can easily fall out when you place them under an airplane seat.

Paravel Weekender Set Plus

The Weekender Set Plus is an excellent option for travelers who are into big bags. The Aviator Carry-On Plus is the perfect suitcase for travel in the US because it maximizes the cabin baggage allowance most US airlines have in place. It’s a durable polycarbonate suitcase with spinner wheels, an aluminum handle, a TSA-friendly lock, and two spacious packing compartments.

The Weekender bag is the star of this set in my opinion. It’s massive for a classic bag, and if you’re savvy about packing, you can easily pack for trips of 2-4 days just in the canvas bag. The bag is fully lined with a couple of zippered pockets inside for easy access to the most important items, but other than that it’s practically empty.

It has a detachable shoulder strap and two short grab handles, so you can carry it in multiple ways. This bag also features straps that let you secure it to a luggage handle, and it will sit comfortably on top of the Aviator suitcase.

Overall, this set offers slightly more packing space than the Pacific Tote Plus set, and it’s a great option for trips of up to a week.

Paravel Grand Tour Set Plus

The Grand Tour Set Plus pairs Paravel’s Aviator Carry-On Plus with the brand’s take on a duffel bag. This luggage combination can easily work for trips that are 7-10 days long, and the duffel alone can get you through a weekend trip without bursting at the seams.

The Aviator Carry-On Plus is a polycarbonate suitcase equipped with double spinner wheels, an aluminum wheel handle, a TSA-approved lock, and two roomy packing compartments with pockets and organizers. It’s 22.7” tall so good for travel in the US but not the best option for flying with international airlines.

The Grand Tour duffel bag is made from EcoCraft Canvas material, which is manufactured from upcycled plastic bottles. It is fully lined with internal and external pockets, two short grab handles, and a detachable shoulder strap. This bag also features a lockable zipper, for ultimate peace of mind when traveling.

One thing to note is that the duffel bag is too big to be a personal item on most US airlines, so this might not be the best solution if you’re looking for a versatile luggage set for air travel.

Paravel Aviator Packing Cube Set Plus

Paravel Aviator Packing Cube Set Plus is easily my favorite option out of the bunch. This set includes the Aviator Carry-On Plus suitcase, the Aviator Grand checked luggage, and a quad set of packing cubes that will help you take your organizational skills to the next level.

The two suitcases are excellent; they’re made from recycled polycarbonate, with vegan leather accents and recycled aircraft-grade aluminum in the wheel handle. Both suitcases have spinner wheels, a TSA-approved lock, and two packing compartments with pockets and dividers. The features are identical on the carry-on and the checked luggage and their size is the one and only difference.

The packing cubes are a must for anyone who enjoys traveling and often struggles when packing their luggage. It includes four cubes – a large packing cube, a medium cube, and two small cubes. All the cubes are made from Negative Nylon, which is manufactured from post-consumer recycled plastic.

Additionally, all four packing cubes have a tiny window that allows you to see what’s inside, plus they all fold completely flat for easy storage. One important thing to note is that they’re just packing cubes, not compression cubes, so they’re meant to help you stay organized and separate clothing by type/cleanliness, and not fit more in the luggage.

Paravel Cabana Set Plus

The Cabana Set Plus is one of Paravel’s best options for 7-day trips. This set includes the Aviator Carry-On Plus suitcase and the medium Cabana tote that when combined, offer plenty of packing space for both short and longer trips.

The Aviator Carry-On Plus is a great suitcase for people who prefer bigger carry-ons. It meets the TSA requirements, but it won’t be accepted as a cabin bag on many international flights so keep that in mind. The suitcase is very functional with two packing compartments, internal pockets and dividers, double spinner wheels, an aluminum wheel handle, and durable polycarbonate construction.

The Cabana tote is made from canvas, which is manufactured from post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. The tote is fully lined with open and closed pockets inside, as well as a couple of external pockets. It has the classic short tote grab handles, as well as a removable shoulder strap. It’s an excellent standalone bag, and you could use it for anything – shopping, the office, and even the beach!

One thing to note is that the tote bag doesn’t have a luggage sleeve, so you can’t secure it to the top of a suitcase. This can make it a bit more difficult to move around the airport with multiple bags, and it’s something to keep in mind.

The Cabana Pet Carrier Set Plus is an absolute must for anyone who is used to traveling with their four-legged best friend. The set includes that standard Aviator Carry-On Plus suitcase and Paravel’s Cabana Pet Carrier.

If you purchase this set, I think you’ll have the most stylish pet carrier ever made. Also, for every pet carrier Paravel sells, a portion of the profits is donated to Rescue City, a Brooklyn-based dog shelter.

The suitcase is excellent. It’s the Carry-On Plus suitcase with a larger packing compartment that works well for US airlines, but it’s not perfect for international travel. The bag is manufactured from recycled polycarbonate, aluminum, and vegan leather, with double spinner wheels, a TSA-friendly lock, and two roomy packing compartments.

The pet carrier is made from a canvas material that’s manufactured from recycled plastic bottles. It’s the same material Paravel’s other tote bags and duffels are made from, so it’s spill-proof and stain-resistant. The interior of the pet carrier features a removable and washable fleece lining, as well as lots of mesh on the sides so that the pets have enough ventilation and are able to see through the walls of the bag.

There are openings on the top and side of the pet carrier, as well as a leash attachment inside. The carrier is suitable for animals that weigh up to 20 lbs, plus it has pockets for treats and toys.

Paravel The Ultimate Set Plus

The Ultimate Set Plus from Paravel is probably the best option for anyone who really likes this brand. It includes four pieces of luggage and a set of four packing cubes, and a combination of any two (or more) items from this set that can get you through trips of any length.

You get two Aviator suitcases – the Carry-On Plus and the Grand checked bag. There’s an option to get this set with the smaller carry-on as well. The suitcases are made from recycled polycarbonate, they’ve got aircraft-grade aluminum handles, double spinner wheels, a TSA-friendly lock (each), and spacious packing compartments with dividers and pockets.

The Weekender bag is also included in this set. It’s a big canvas bag that can easily be enough for a weekend away. The bag is lined, it has internal pockets, short grab handles, a detachable shoulder strap, and a luggage strap so you can secure it to the top of a suitcase.

This set also includes Paravel’s foldable duffel bag that’s made from Negative Nylon. It takes 22 plastic bottles to manufacture this bag, which weighs just 1 lb and fits into the pocket of your jacket when folded. The bag even has internal pockets and a luggage sleeve, which is great for a portable and foldable duffel.

Four packing cubes are also included in this set, and they’re just the right size for the brand’s carry-on suitcases. The cubes are excellent for organizing and separating your clothing.
