What is The North Face DryVent?

DryVent is North Face’s original answer to Gore-Tex. It is a waterproof, windproof, and breathable system of layers used on a variety of North Face clothing.

It enables you to keep doing what you are doing without getting wet, both inside and out. It keeps the rain and snow out, as well as the wind, while still allowing sweat to get out.

North Face has developed a few different types of DryVent – labeled according to how many layers they have used.

They label them: 2L, 2.5L and 3L.

DryVent 3L is typically used by North Face for their hardest wearing clothing and in more extreme environments.

DryVent 2.5L is used in lighter garments that need to also be more comfortable and dynamic. The inner layer is intended to protect the skin and is not as hard as in a 3L DryVent.

DryVent 2L is used in more comfortable and warm clothing. It is often used with clothing that has a softer, warmer lining and is very versatile according to North Face.
