Transferring Hyatt points to someone else is not a bad idea right?

After all, sometimes you have lots of points in one account, and just a few in another. The Hyatt account from your spouse with fewer points might not be able to get you a night in a hotel. But put the World of Hyatt points together and you have a winner!

Restrictions For Transferring Hyatt Points

Before you start transferring points between World of Hyatt accounts, you should be aware of the restrictions:

• You can only transfer points between members once every 30 days
• You can only transfer points in order to help redeem an award

So, in most cases, as long as you are not transferring points all the time and not moving around a lot of points, there are not many restrictions. However, it always pays to know the rules, and know you do!

No Restriction On Spouse, Family or Friends

You might be wondering if you can transfer Hyatt points to a friend or colleague at work, or if you can only transfer to family or a spouse. You can transfer Hyatt points to anyone you like!

World of Hyatt does not place any restrictions on transferring points to another person. They do not have to be family members.

How To Transfer Hyatt Points

Perhaps by design, transferring Hyatt points between Hyatt One World accounts is not as simple as it could be. It requires filling out a physical form, both parties’ signatures, and then sending the Hyatt points transfer form to a specific email address (or physical address if you wish).

Here are the steps to transfer your Hyatt Points to another person:

1. Fill out this form with both party’s details
2. Get both parties to sign the Point Combining Request form
3. Send the form to World of Hyatt via email or post
4. Await confirmation in your World of Hyatt account

One tip I would give you with the signatures is that if you are not in the same location you can use digital signatures to sign a pdf instead. That way, you can simply fill out the pdf online then digitally sign it and send it to World of Hyatt. They do apparently accept that form of signature as well.

Benefits of Combining World of Hyatt Points

There are a few benefits of transferring and combing World of Hyatt points, one of which might not be obvious.

1. You get to redeem a reward faster on one account by adding points from another World of Hyatt account.
2. The person with the higher status will get other benefits when using the points, so it is better for their account to have them all together.
