The Boundary Supply Prima System Backpack is one of the best digital nomad backpacks around, without question. This isn’t just a nomad backpack, it is a carry system that comes with a camera holder and separate laptop sleeve that all connect to the back too.

Let’s start with the backpack. Built from 750 D nylon, it is both tough as nails and water resistant. It features a large top-loading main compartment with a full-length zipper for easy access that is spacious enough for a weekend away and perfect for a carry-on.

It is packed full of organizational features including a laptop pocket, tablet pocket, hidden RFID pocket, quick access top pocket, expandable water bottle pocket, and more.

Carrying it is a dream thanks to the breathable, padded strap system that is both comfortable and keeps you cool. The buckles are self-locking via magnets and can be closed with one hand and there is a luggage pass-through to make travel easy.

The separate laptop sleeve features laptop protection, a tablet sleeve, and multiple pockets for cables, headphones, and more. The camera case is padded, fits a DSLR and lenses plus it clips onto the side of the backpack too.

In all honesty, it is hard to think of a better nomad backpack as this ticks all the boxes, the only catch is that it is super expensive!

Tortuga Outbreaker Backpack 35L

The Tortuga Outbreaker Backpack 35L is another of my best digital nomad backpacks as it literally does it all.

Built from X-Pac® VX21 durable and waterproof material, this laptop backpack is built to survive the life of a digital nomad and protect everything inside it on their travels.

It is immaculately designed for ease of access and organization. The backpack opens up in half to reveal a large main compartment with 4 smaller pockets for less substantial items. The other side has 2 large pockets for even further organization.

Once you close that section, you’ll find a fleece-lined padded laptop sleeve with multiple pockets on the other side for all your chargers and cables.

If that wasn’t enough, the front pocket opens up with an organizational panel for everything from your passport to sunglasses, keys, and cards. There is even a mesh water bottle pocket on the side and a handy hip belt pocket too!

Carrying this awesome backpack is super comfortable too thanks to the padded waist strap, sternum, and shoulder straps. The back panel is also padded and breathable. This is a very hard backpack for digital nomads to beat but it is a bit expensive.

Matein Travel Laptop Backpack

The Matein Travel Laptop Backpack is an awesome backpack for digital nomads that are living on a budget as it is incredibly affordable while being an awesome travel backpack.

Made from water-resistant polyester, it is surprisingly tough for the price, easy to travel with, has a spot for everything, and it is quite stylish to boot.

What makes this a great backpack for digital nomads is how organized this backpack will make you. You will find a padded laptop & tablet compartment at the back, a large main compartment in the middle, and a front organizational panel too.

There is also a handy front stash pocket, side mesh pockets for water bottles, a hidden anti-theft pocket, and luggage carry strap. You will also find an external USB charging port that you can connect to a battery pack inside to charge on the go.

Being so affordable, you’d expect some downsides in this laptop backpack. One is that it is quite a small backpack at 28 liters so is big enough for a weekend away but not much more and access to the main compartment isn’t so easy.

Nomatic Travel Bag 40L Backpack

This Nomatic Backpack is one amazing travel backpack that has been designed perfectly for keeping everything organized, and protected, and to make travel as easy as possible.

It features a main compartment with a U-lid zipper for easy access and packing. The laptop sleeve is padded and sits on the lid for quick access from the top of the bag too. It is TSA approved too so you shouldn’t have to remove it when going through security.

Each side of the travel bag is useful too with a compartment for two pairs of shoes on one side and an organizer panel on the other with a spot for everything from a laptop to cards and liquids too. There is even an RFID-blocking pocket to protect your cards.

This awesome nomad backpack also comes with a dual carry system. You can carry it as a duffel or as a hiking backpack!

While this is one of the great digital nomad backpacks it does lack some style and it is very expensive too!

The Pacsafe Venturesafe 25L G3 Anti-Theft Backpack is built from durable water-resistant nylon and polyester so it will last and stop your things from getting wet in a rain shower or two.

Built as an anti-theft travel backpack to protect your things, you will find 2 lockable zipper compartments and cut-resistant fabric to stop knives from coming through, it is safe to say that your things will be safe.

You can keep your gear organized in the laptop compartment, main compartment, padded notebook sleeve, doable outer water bottle pockets, mesh zip pocket & key clip, and an RFID blocking pocket too. You can also add a hydration sleeve and use it as a hiking backpack too.

Carrying this digital nomad backpack is super comfy too thanks to the padded straps and back panel. The main issue with this pack is access and that the security locks are a bit weak and fiddly to use.

Aer Travel Pack 3

The Aer Travel Pack 3 is a true travel backpack that is up there with some of the top digital nomad backpacks around.

Built from 1680D Cordura® ballistic nylon that is also water-resistant, this is one of those travel backpacks that simply won’t break and it makes traveling easy too.

What makes this an ideal backpack is that there is a place for all your things. The main compartment is large for all your clothes and easy to access as the lid opens fully, which also makes packing easy too.

There is a laptop compartment at the back with tech pockets for plugs and cables. A front organizer panel for documents, phones, and other cables, plus a side pocket to boot. There is even a hidden luggage tracker pocket and an expandable water bottle pocket too.

This is an expensive travel bag that won’t fit everyone’s budget plus it is very heavy when empty, weighing in at 4.2 lbs.

Osprey Porter 30

The Osprey Porter 30 is one of the best-looking travel backpacks around thanks to its stylish design. It features semi-rigid sides that help with packing the main compartment and protect your belongings at the same time.

Access to the main compartment through a large U-zip is ideal for finding things and packing plus there is enough space for 4-5 days away.

There is a dedicated laptop compartment at the back, a front organizer panel, plus a front top pocket for smaller items.

Once packed you can use the handy compression straps to keep everything together and either carry it as a duffel in suitcase mode or open up the back panel to find the backpack straps.

It is very comfy to carry for most people but isn’t the best on narrow shoulders.

Mission Workshop Fitzroy 40L

The Mission Workshop Fitzroy is a bit more basic than the other backpacks featured but might suit the needs of some more minimalist digital nomads.

This backpack’s biggest selling point is how tough it is as it is made to military specs and is waterproof too, so your gear will always be dry and the travel bag will last a long time!

This is a top-loading travel bag with a large main storage area that also features a laptop sleeve. The front features three further pockets for all your things which suit smaller items, and they are all protected by urethane-coated zippers.

It is a super comfy travel bag to carry thanks to the padded back panel, shoulder, and sternum straps, but it is missing a hip belt.

One thing missing for digital nomads is the lack of internal organization and access to everything is hard through the top-loading design.

Osprey Farpoint 40

The Osprey Farpoint 40 is a great backpack for digital nomads who want a travel backpack that doubles up for adventures too.

Made from top-quality water-resistant nylon it is tough and will keep your things dry through rain showers and splashes.

The main area has great access through the large U zip, is spacious, and has mesh pockets on the inside of the lid too.

There is a lockable padded laptop compartment at the back so it is always safe, a scratch-free pocket for sunglasses, a tablet sleeve, and two external pockets for water bottles too!

This digital nomad bag also comes with an internal frame which, combined with the comfortable straps and back panel makes carrying it fully loaded as comfortable as possible. The one thing missing in my opinion is that there should be more pockets.

Peak Design Everyday Backpack V2 30L

The Peak Design Everyday Backpack V2 30L is perfect for digital nomads who work with cameras and it is stylish as hell too.

What makes this maybe the best backpack around is the way the main compartment is laid out. You can access it from the top and both sides plus it has customizable dividers too.

The dividers can all be folded away or moved around to accommodate a DSLR, lenses, headphones, and more and you can even use the external straps to add a tripod to the travel bag too.

You will also find a dedicated laptop and tablet sleeve, tech accessory pockets, sunglasses pockets, and more. The main area is also expandable too so that you can always carry another thing.

To top it all off, this is super comfortable to carry, durable, weatherproof, and comes with a lifetime guarantee. The only thing that is hard to swallow is the expensive price.
