If you’re looking for a durable, dependable RV cover that lasts, and don’t mind spending a bit extra to get it, then the Eevelle Goldline RV Cover is the one to go for.
This RV cover is made from 600D polyester, which is super tough and will last up to 3 years and longer while being exposed to everything from UV rays to snowfall.
This, together with the marine-grade Tru-weave design makes the cover about as long-lasting as it could be and it’ll protect your RV from anything the elements can throw at it.
It’s also breathable and well ventilated to ensure no internal moisture builds up, stopping any mold or mildew growth on your RV.
Installing the cover is simple once you know how, but being made of thick material, it is quite heavy and will require two of you to get it on your RV.
Once on, it provides excellent coverage and adjusts to fit. There are zippered side access panels you can get inside your RV with ease whenever you want. Plus the stitching on the straps holds up in heavy winds.
Overall, this is one of the best RV covers around when it comes to long-lasting durability and RV protection, but you have to pay for it. This cover is expensive and almost twice the price of some of the others.
The Covercraft Wolf RV Cover is the most affordable RV cover in the review, and despite its low cost, it still does a good job of protecting your RV.
This RV cover is made from multiple layers of polypropylene for both durability, breathability, and weather protection.
It will protect your RV from UV, rain, and snowfall plus remove any moisture build-up thanks to its breathable design and multiple vent system.
The cover is quite easy to install, you might need 2 people, but it doesn’t take much time. Once on, it provides excellent coverage and you can adjust all the straps to ensure a tight fit.
There are no panels for accessing the RV door on this cover though, meaning you’ll have to remove or fight with it to check on the insides.
Also, the cover doesn’t handle strong winds well either. the stitching on the straps can pull off the outer shell creating tears. It does come with a patch kit for fixing small holes or rips if they happen though.
Overall it’s a pretty good cover for the price but lack of access and the issue with heavy winds do hold it back.
The Classic Accessories PermaPRO RV Cover comes in a range of sizes to suit most RVs and is a good barrier against any damage the elements may cause.
The RV cover is made from Classic Accessories PermaPRO ripstop fabric which is both lightweight and semi-durable. You can expect it to last up to three years but with the lifetime warranty, you should be able to get a fresh one once it’s done it’s time.
The cover provides ample UV, water, and wind protection for your RV and it’s vented for breathability to help reduce any internal moisture and mold build-up.
The RV cover is quite easy to put on your RV and comes with adjustable straps so you can get a custom fit. The zippers come with long lines so you don’t need a ladder to pull them down, and there are special panels meaning you can access your RV without removing the cover.
Overall, it’s a solid RV that’s lightweight, portable, and protective. The instructions aren’t the best though, and being lightweight, I wouldn’t bank on it to last more than 3 years.
The ADCO Aqua Shed RV Cover is designed for use in areas with high rainfall and humidity, like Florida, thanks to its excellent breathability and waterproofing.
This RV cover is made from polypropylene with a triple layer of SFS aqua shed on the top panel to ensure no rain can get through into your RV. The cover is also vented and the materials are breathable, ensuring minimal build-up of internal moisture to reduce any mildew or mold build it.
The cover also provides excellent UV protection to stop your RV color from fading, but the sun does take its toll on the cover.
Some RV users have found this cover to last just 14 months when subject to the heavy rainfall and intense sunshine that comes with Florida’s climate, showing that it’s not as durable as we’d like it to be.
Another negative is that the cover is tricky to install on your RV. It arrives packed upside down, so you’ll need to lay it out and refold it for a quick installation.
Other than that, overall it provides good coverage and protection for your RV while it lasts, plus you can customize the fit and still gain access through the door panel.
The Camco ULTRAGuard Class C RV Cover is made for life in cold and snowy regions thanks to its thick triple layer of SFS material on the top panel.
The top panel beads water ensuring that no rain or even snowfall will penetrate through the cover and into your RV. You’ll also find that the overall polypropylene fabric is breathable, and when combined with the vents, ensures no internal moisture build-up.
Putting the cover on your RV is simple once you know how but don’t follow the instructions. The cover arrives incorrectly folded for installation and you’ll want to lay it out and refold it before trying to install it.
Once on it provides access to the RV, good coverage and you can adjust it to get a tight fit for maximum protection.
While this RV cover is made for cold and snowy areas, it doesn’t manage the wind very well. It begins to rip along the seams in high winds, so if you live in a windy place, this might not be the RV cover for you.
When you first look at the RVMasking RV Cover, it ticks all the boxes. This RV cover is made with a 3 layer design on the sides with a 5 layer design on the top, all of which do an excellent job of stopping any wind, rain, or UV rays from damaging your RV.
You’ll also find multiple vents to ensure that any internal moisture build-up is removed to reduce that risk of any mildew or mold building up on your RV.
The RV cover overall is pretty light and easy to install. Once on your RV, it’ll provide good coverage, easy access, and you can adjust it to fit too.
The issues with this cover come from its lightweight and multi-layered design. The layers can hold water, making the cover exceptionally heavy to remove and essentially surrounding your RV in a damp cloth which promotes mold growth.
Being a lightweight cover, it’s also not the most durable one around. Some users have taken it out of the bag after using it for one winter to discover it in pieces.
To top it all off, the storage bag is a little delicate too, so take care when accessing it. Overall, this RV cover looks great on the surface but when you dig into the details, there are quite a lot of flaws.
The KING BIRD Extra-Thick RV Cover is designed for use in all climates and provides excellent overall protection for your RV and it comes with a 2-year warranty that Kind Bird stands by if anything does go wrong.
This RV cover is made from extra-thick polyurethane utilizing 4 layers on the top and 3 layers on the side of the cover. The thickness and layering make the cover durable and awesome at stopping any weather from coming through.
Whatever nature throws at this cover, whether it’s strong sunshine, snowfall, or heavy rain, it can handle it.
The cover, as well as being protective, is also breathable and has a 6 vent system to stop or reduce any internal moisture build-up and thus reducing any mold or mildew build-up.
Putting the cover on your RV is quick and simple. It’ll provide full coverage and the panel design makes for easy access to your RV door. You can also adjust the straps to ensure a tight fit.
The only issue with this RV cover is that the stitching where the straps join the cover isn’t durable. In high winds, the straps seem to unbutton from the outer shell causing tears.
Luckily the two-year warranty does cover this, and King Bird will replace the cover if this happens. You could also opt to reinforce the straps with some ratchet straps to stop the wind from ripping them.
The first step to ensuring you have an effective RV cover is by making sure you buy one that fits your RV correctly. Most manufactures offer a wide range of sizes but it’s best to measure your RV first, before hitting add to cart so you don’t end up with a cover that doesn’t fit, or one that’s too big and flaps in the wind.
Here’s what you should measure;
Once you are sure of your RV’s size, pick a cover that matches, and be sure to check other people’s comments as to whether the sizing is accurate.
Unfortunately, no RV cover is going to last forever. Any fabric left out in the rain, sun, wind, and snow will eventually degrade, no matter how tough it is. But that doesn’t mean it should disintegrate overnight, and this comes down to the type of material and the stitching.
Most RV covers are made from either polyurethane, PVC, polyester, or polypropylene. All of these materials are fully breathable and waterproof when layered and treated, like in all the RV covers mentioned above. Thus, they provide excellent protection from the elements and are pretty durable.
The weakest point of all RV covers is the stitching where the straps connect to the cover. In high winds, a gust will get under the cover and put a lot of pressure on the stitches, often pulling them out and tearing the cover.
If you live in areas with high winds be sure to check the stitching is at least doubled, and you might want to add some ratchet straps to protect the stitching if you know a storm is coming.
The last thing you want is an RV cover that is tough to install, doesn’t fit well, and doesn’t let you access your RV.
All the covers in the review are easy to install once you know how and have them correctly folded. They are also all adjustable so you can ensure a tight fit and reduce any explore to wind or rain.
All the covers, bar one, have access panels so you can inspect the interior of your RV easily. If you’re on a budget, you may have to sacrifice this feature though, as it adds $100 extra at a minimum to the cost of the cover.
Putting a cover on your RV increases the risk of mold and mildew build up so it’s key you pick a cover with ample ventilation and breathability. All the RV covers in the review have multiple vents and are breathable so ensure any internal moisture is dried out to stop any mold growth.
There are, of course, some pros and cons to using an RV cover, which we’ll discuss below. This might help you decide whether you want to use an RV cover or not, so pay close attention.
The best RV cover in the review is the Eevelle Goldline RV Cover. This cover is about as durable as they come while providing excellent all-weather protection, easy access to your RV, and ensuring no mold grows on it either.
If you’re looking to spend as little as possible, the best RV cover for you is the Covercraft Wolf RV Cover. This RV cover is upwards of one-third of the cost of most of the others while still providing excellent protection for your RV. You will have to sacrifice easy access to your RV though, as it doesn’t have any side panels.
The all-around best RV cover is the Classic Accessories PermaPRO RV Cover. This RV cover balances performance, price, and durability better than the rest. It’s well made, easy to install, provides easy access, and excellent weather protection.
