Kamik Olivia Rain Boots
In this review, we’ll check out these Kamik rain boots in detail, and see what exactly you are getting for your money. We’ll talk about their upsides, as well as their downsides so that you can easily figure out if they are the right fit for you! View Latest DealThe Olivia rain boots by Kamik are a good option for women who can’t (or don’t want to) spend hundreds of bucks on plain rubber boots.
They are affordable, sleek, and pretty functional – which makes them a good choice even for women who don’t really like wearing rubber boots.
First, let’s talk about what I really like about these Kamik rain boots. And, what I’m sure you will really like about them too!
A rain boot is waterproof by default. But, there are actually some brands that don’t bother making the upper part of the boots completely waterproof. This is fine if you’re just going to the store in the rain, but which also makes them completely useless if you plan to step into the water in them.
Luckily, Kamik is not one of those brands, and the Olivia rubber boots are completely waterproof, top to bottom. And that makes them suitable for pretty much any activity that requires you to step in deep water or mud, like fishing and gardening.
In terms of design, I can’t stress enough how much I like that these boots aren’t shiny. I think that that is always a dead giveaway that you are wearing rubber boots, and one of the biggest reasons why some people don’t like them. I am one of those people, and these boots are pretty much the only rubber boots that I own.
This mostly depends on what you consider to be stylish shoes. But if you’re debating whether or not you could wear these with skirts and dresses, I think you easily could. Especially if you got the pair that is completely black – since they are matte, no one will even notice that you’re wearing rubber boots.
And of course, black boots go with everything in your closet. In addition to that, I really think that the buckle detail on the top makes them look even more stylish. It’s certainly a detail that you often see on all other types of boots, and which makes it even less obvious that these are rubber boots.

Rain boots need to have almost as much traction as hiking boots because you will mostly wear them on wet and slippery surfaces. And the good news is that the Olivia boots will provide you with plenty of traction and grip since their outsoles are very well made.
For one thing, they have a rubber sole which immediately means good traction. But what’s even better is that the soles have multiple deep lugs, that will ensure that you won’t slip and fall when you step outside on a rainy day.
Well, I guess that the main reason you are looking at these boots is that you don’t want to splurge on Hunters. Which I totally understand – I myself am really not a fan of rubber boots, and I could never justify spending hundreds of dollars on them. I would always go for the affordable option – especially since I would only wear these when I absolutely must.
So, if you are mostly looking for affordability, then the Olivia is pretty much the perfect boot for you. Just keep in mind that different colors of the boot have different price tags. If you need this for work or just gardening and don’t really care about the color, then just check out which ones are the cheapest in your size. You can get some colors for a little over $30, which is an awesome deal if you ask me.
Of course, there are some downsides to these boots, and I’ll tell you about those now. Spoiler alert: they aren’t too big a deal, and there is a solution for both of them :>

We all know that rubber boots do a lousy job at keeping your legs warm, especially if you dare wear them in the snow. Most of them don’t have any insulation – even the more expensive ones, like Hunter. And the Olivia boots are no different in this regard since they do not feature any kind of insulation or even warm lining.
This means you will need to wear liners or really thick socks or boot liners if you want to stay warm in these. Sure, no insulation is fine if you’re looking at rubber boots that you can wear during the occasional spring/summer shower, but going out in them when it’s raining and freezing cold in November? Sounds like a recipe for a runny nose, to me!

You can use liners to keep your legs warm in these boots and overcome the lack of insulation. However, keep in mind that these run pretty small. And not even in the feet area – the opening of the boot is pretty tight, and you will need to go a size up if you want to use liners with them.
And if you are one of the women who often struggle to find boots that fit her in the calves, these are probably going to be a nightmare for you. Because you will have to go a size up just to get them to fit, and then there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to fit liners inside of them.
Actually, going a size up just means that you’ll be able to put them on, and they will still be snug in the calves.
So, go two sizes up if you want to wear these with liners. They might be a little big for your feet, but you can always solve that by wearing an additional pair of socks. Which will also help keep you warm in cold weather.
So, whether or not you actually like rubber boots, chances are that you will need to buy a pair eventually. And not because of their looks, but because of their functionality – you can’t really deny that rubber boots are the best type of footwear for rainy days.
The Olivia boots by Kamik are a great choice for all of you who are looking for something, sleek, stylish, and affordable. Their design makes them a good fit for dresses and skirts, and their low price tag makes them an essential addition to your autumn closet.
The boots have a pretty good outsole, that will provide you will the traction you need on slippery surfaces. But, you will have to get them in one or two sizes larger than you usually wear, because they are pretty narrow around the calves. Especially if you want these to keep you warm – you will need to wear liners with hem, because they don’t have any insulation.
But overall, I really think these are the best rain boots in their price range. Especially because you will wear them for years, and you will definitely get your money’s worth. Anyway, head over to Amazon if you want to check out the color options and their prices – it will be totally worth it.
