Rainbow Sandals Review (Durable & Comfortable)

Materials & Durability

So, what materials are these Rainbow Sandals made of that make them so great, and are they going to last? We’ll start at the top of the flip-flops and work our way down to the sole. Let’s take a look!

The straps feature a braided strap as the toe piece is made from nylon that extends into a double-stitched leather strap. The double-stitched leather holds firm for years and the braided nylon strap is incredibly durable and doesn’t pull out under strain like some flip-flops.

The footbed is made from soft leather sitting on top of an EVA foam midsole that provides shock absorption and support. The sole is made from rubber with light treads for grip.

Durability

Rainbow Flip-Flops are some of the most durable flip-flops around and some users have owned their first pair of Rainbow Sandals for up to 10 years without having to buy a new pair, second pair, or third pair.

The only issue these flip-flops have is that the rubber sole wears down and might need replacing, but this depends on the surfaces you walk on and how often you find yourself wearing them.

Comfort & Support

Flip-flops are not notorious for comfort or support, but we think these Rainbow Flip-Flops might just break the mold in this regard.

Comfort

As will every flip flop, the Rainbow Flip Flops do require some time to break in. Breaking them in is key to maximum comfort as the footbed slowly molds to your feet.

This means they aren’t so great for a few wears or more, they are not uncomfortable but they aren’t comfortable if you get me.

The straps also lay flat and the footbed is flat too, so you can slip them on with ease at the beginning either. But with time, comes comfort.

Once you are done breaking in each flip-flop which can take a few weeks, they are incredibly comfortable as they have modeled perfectly to each foot.

You will love how soft the leather is on your feet, plus how it stays cool and doesn’t build up sweat when in hot climates, perfect for the beach.

The key to ensuring these sandals are super comfy is getting the size right! These sandals don’t come in normal sizes, they come in size ranges so be sure to follow the fit guide.

Support

The EVA foam midsole on these is designed to provide foot support but this takes some time to come into fruition. As you break each flip flop in, it will mold to your feet and provide ample support, depending on the type of feet you have.

If you are using these at the beach most of the time, you will find the support more than adequate. But, if you are walking through a city or a whole day, you may find the foam isn’t quite supportive enough.

For those of you who know you need extra arch support, you can opt for the Rainbow Sandals with a double layer of foam for more cushioning.

Overall, these Rainbow Sandals will likely be the most comfortable pair of sandals you have ever owned after a few weeks of breaking them in. They will be the only ones you want to wear once they are broken in!

Traction

The rubber sole on the Rainbow Sandals comes with a very light tread to it and this makes them great when walking around town or at the beach. You will have more than enough grip and they even hold well on wet surfaces too!

But, it is worth noting the grip doesn’t quite cut it on steeper trails or with looser terrain. These are not the sandals you want to find yourself wearing when walking up a mountain. They will slip and slide their way around dirt trails and loose trails plus, smooth boulders are not their forte either.

Wear these Rainbow Sandals around the house, garden, town, and the beach in summer but maybe put some shoes on when going on an adventure.

Style

When it comes to style, Rainbow has absolutely nailed it with their pairs of flip-flops. They are not bulky like some flip-flops can be, nor are they too thin and slim.

The stylish leather finish adds a lot to their vibes and gives them an old-school look! Overall, they are exceptionally cool-looking flip-flops that slide perfectly into the surf culture they came from, topped with comfort and durability!

Versatility

Rainbow Sandals really come into their own in casual situations. They are perfect summer footwear to wear when heading for a casual lunch, the beach, hanging out at bars, BBQs, and more.

Being leather, you might think that getting these wet is simply not an option but that isn’t the case. The leather can handle water with ease and when combined with their tough nature, you can really treat them mean, if you want to.

When it comes to traveling with a pair of Rainbows, life is easy. They pack down flat, are super lightweight, and won’t take up much space in a backpack.

Where these sandals don’t perform is outside of casual situations. The leather has style but not enough style for a smart occasion and we have already discussed how they perform on adventures – it is best to wear a different pair with better grip or shoes.

Value For Money

Rainbow Sandals retail for $56 and we think that price offers great value when considering just how great these flip-flops are!

They are not as cheap as other sandals or flip-flops, but they are way more durable and way more comfortable.

The fact that once you wear these sandals and break them in, they are soft on your skin, don’t stick with sweat, are as comfy as a sandal gets plus they might just last for a decade!

Overall, we think these offer excellent value for money!

Rating

The Rainbow Sandals have done very well across most of the categories in our rating system with a score of 84/100.

They only lost points in the versatility and traction categories, as they don’t work for smart occasions and don’t grip enough for adventures on muddy, loose, or steep trails.

Other than this, they are about as good as a sandal can get for going to the beach and enjoying all the other great things that come along with summer!
