MIAS (Manila International Auto Show) is a perfect resplendent event for car enthusiasts and players in the automobile sector to gather in the Philippines.

The auto show’s inception in 2005 has given rise to one of the country’s most iconic auto shows, bringing together thousands of car lovers. Held every year in the month of April, the show is held at the World Trade Center in Metro Manila.

The highlight of the event has to be the display of different cars, ranging from brand new ones to hybrid ones aimed at conserving the environment as well as futuristic cars that embrace different concepts. Be sure to look out for your favorite automotive brands that will grace the event. And they should definitely be there, considering that the auto show includes over 150 different automotive brands from all over the world.

That includes giants like Ford, Subaru, Jeep, and many others that are proud to show off both their newest creation, as well as some old timers that have made the brands what they are now today. Yes, you can admire both the newest and fastest Imprezas, but also those that are several decades old, making this the perfect automotive event for any type of car aficionado.

That is not all as car drivers will be able to enjoy the wide range of auto spare parts and electronic gizmos specially designed to make your driving experience as seamless as possible. The motorsports clinic on location at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) is the perfect location for the curious minds as it highlights different aspects of the automobile sector that will fascinate you.

This event is also a unique opportunity to get to see some concept cars. These are usually the stars of the event, as they are unveiled to the public for the first time at MIAS and you can’t really see them anywhere else.

The venue is actually divided into different sections, depending on the vehicle type and manufacturer. So, you can spend hours admiring the vehicles from your favorite brand, or you can walk around and explore all the areas of the venue. We’re particularly fond of the Monster Truck Pavilion, which includes commercial vehicles and large trucks from your favorite off-road brands.

The show’s most exciting bit, for a number of car enthusiasts, has to be the invigorating test drives, both on-road and off-road. This is where the adrenaline kicks in and takes you to cloud nine in the auto world. But bear in mind you can just test drive any car – that would be way too much fun. The cars that can be test-driven are located in the area outside of the venue’s main hall, and they usually include some gems.

Look out for the car contests that pit different brands, as well as the awards given to celebrate the best cars in the custom-made contests. One part of the auto show that is particularly exciting is the stunt show by Russ Swift. The British driver is known for his love of Subaru cars, and for his incredible skills. And you can watch him show off those skills live at MIAS, which is reason enough to attend this year, if you ask me!

And that’s not even half of it. Manila International Auto Show also features a competition that gathers car collectors, modifiers, and workshop workers from all over the world. The Petron-MIAS Custom And Classic Car Competition features some of the most creatively modified cars you can imagine. Remember the MTV show Pimp My Ride? Well, imagine hundreds of such cars competing for awards like Best Interior, Best Body Kit, Best Pain, and many others. It’s a slice of heaven in Manilla.

Another segment of the event that attracts car collectors is the swap meet. Diecast Car Collectors of the Philippines has partnered with MIAS, so that its members have the opportunity to buy, sell, trade or die-cast unique cars at the event. This segment is open only to the members of the club, so don’t make any plans to ship your pride possessions from across the world to Manilla just for the event.

Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) is a must-attend for all car lovers. After the event, you can find more fun visiting the country’s most famous, Manila Zoo along with your loved ones, friends or families. And we definitely recommend heading to the Upside Down Museum, which is an illusion museum just a block away from the World Trade Center Metro Manilla where the auto show is held.

For participants and non-participants on the event, you can check out one of the most luxurious, high-star ratings Ramada Manila Central hotel in the area to end the long day with a blast.
