The Vicdozia selfie stick is one of the best and cheapest options. With a price tag of just a little over $10, it’s suitable for anyone’s budget. And it’s not a bad selfie stick either – it is 20” long when fully extended, but you can also adjust the length however you like. The stick is twist-locking, so it’s remarkably simple to adjust and use.
It features a rubber grip, so it’s pretty easy to hold. This is especially handy if you plan to use the stick underwater. The body of the stick is made from aluminum alloy, and it features rust-proof screws and nuts.
In addition to that, it comes with a wrist strap. It is fairly small when folded, and you can easily fit it in the pocket of your jeans – from me, it gets an A++ for portability. Especially because it only weighs a little over 5 ounces.
The downside is that it is only compatible with action cameras. You can’t use it with your phone or DSLR, but you can use it with virtually any action camera, from the GoPro to the AKASO.
It is perfectly usable in saltwater, so you can document all of the fun you have on your seaside vacation. But, in order to prevent rusting, you need to soak it in freshwater after every use, so that all the salt can dissolve.
And you need to let it air dry, fully extended. If you do this after every time you’ve used the selfie stick in the sea, you will be able to use it for a really long time.
The CamKix Waterproof Selfie Stick is another affordable option. It’s just a little over $19, which is great value for money for something this versatile.
The stick is compatible with most Go Pros and action cameras but does not work with modern smartphones, as well as DSLRs.
The stick floats and is fully waterproof, which is awesome. It means you can use it underwater, and if you drop it, it floats so you can find it again.
Being telescopic, you can really extend it, to get better angles. This also means that the selfie stick is super portable as it packs down small.
Another amazing thing about this stick is that it comes with a cradle for a Go Pro WiFi Remote. You can take shots from afar, which is pretty cool. However, the remote is a necessity, as the selfie stick doesn’t actually have a built-in button. And that’s a bit of a downside since it’s just another thing you have to carry around with you.
There is also a storage compartment in the base so you can reach neutral buoyancy for taking shots while scuba diving or snorkeling. It is also perfect for saltwater use, of course!
It also comes with a handy wrist strap so you can keep it safe when doing extreme water sports like surfing!
The Handler Selfie Stick is perfect for shooting with a Go Pro so long as you are looking for up-close shots.
This selfie stick does not extend and is just 8 inches long, meaning you won’t get those far-away shots. But, this does give you excellent control over shooting underwater or while you are surfing.
The stick is well built, floats, and is waterproof, reducing your chances of losing your Go Pro and stick. The grip is also excellent, even when wet, so you can hold on tight when needs be.
The stick is also easy to use with a quick release that allows you to switch mounts quickly and easily.
There is no shutter button on this so you will have to press record before you start using the stick.
GoPro El Grande Selfie Stick is an excellent option if you are looking for a selfie stick that extends quite a distance.
At a maximum length, this guy puts your Go Pro 38 inches away from you so you can take shots from different angles. It also collapses down to 15 inches, so close-up shots are very possible too.
It is remarkably easy to use and it comes with a ball and socket mount, so the Go Pro can spin 360 degrees if you want it to.
It’s pretty light, and portable when packed down, and it is both durable and waterproof, so it hits most of the nails on the head.
The stick is a little expensive though, and it is very annoying that it doesn’t work as a tripod, as it would have been simple to add.
The Trehapuva Selfie Stick is a very affordable option that works with almost all Go Pros and other action cameras too.
It is built from aluminum alloy to stop it from rusting and has a handy rubber grip so you can hold it securely and comfortably. But, the screws seem to rust, so be sure to replace those if you can.
This is an extendable selfie stick that you can extend from 7.5 inches to 19 inches. It features an easy twist lock mechanism and has three different extension points so you can shoot different angles.
It is also super light, packs down small for portability, and is super affordable too. It is also waterproof but it doesn’t float, so do not drop t while you are surfing or snorkeling.
The AFAITH Go Pro Selfie Stick is about as versatile as a selfie stick can get.
This thing really does it all from being a tripod to extending, working with almost all Go Pros and actions cams, plus it even has a smartphone mount.
It extends all the way out to 35 inches so you can shoot multiple angles. The simple twist and lock design is easy to use.
You can mount your smartphone at the base of the stick to see what your Go Pro is recording and remote control it too.
At the base, you have fold-out tripod feet, three of them to be exact, so you can stand it up in the sand or anywhere to take some great shots.
To top it all off, this is light, compact, portable, and durable too. The only issue is the fold out tripod legs are a little fragile!
The Smatree foldable pole looks very much like the official GoPro 3-way grip. But it costs a lot less than the official mount, so it’s a really good alternative if you’re on a tighter budget. It is made from high-quality aluminum alloy, so it’s pretty sturdy and durable. It is also water-resistant, and safe to use in saltwater, as long as you clean it thoroughly after each use.
This is also one of the most portable and versatile selfie sticks out of the bunch. Since the body of the stick is foldable, you can also use this as a mount or even as a two-pod (it only has two legs). Plus, it’s only around 6” when folded, meaning you can fit this in the pocket of your jeans without any issues. It extends to a little over 19”, which is a decent length.
You will need to use the adapter to attach the GoPro to this selfie stick, but it is included in the box. This comes with the standard 1/4” screw, meaning that you can attach a regular camera to it as well (without an adapter).
And it also comes with a wrist strap, so it’s more convenient to carry around. You can attach that strap to virtually anything with a carabiner, and completely forget that you’re even carrying the Smatree X1.
Overall, if you’re open to getting something that’s not just a selfie stick, this is a really good option. It is versatile, high quality, and insanely portable. And it is a lot cheaper than the official version of basically the same thing.
The Sandmarc GoPro Pole is an excellent mid-range selfie stick. It’s made from premium materials, and it is very sturdy and durable. The rubber grip feels very secure and comfortable in your hands, even when you’re using this underwater. Which you can, since the selfie stick is waterproof.
It’s compatible with all GoPro models if you’re using the detachable mount. Without the mount, the selfie stick has a standard 1/4” screw, which you can use with virtually all cameras. It also comes with a wrist strap, making it super convenient to carry everywhere.
This selfie stick is pretty portable – it folds to 10” and it weighs only 8 ounces. That’s pretty great considering that it can be extended up to 25”. Unfortunately, you can’t use this with your smartphone, so it’s definitely not the most versatile stick out of the bunch.
It features locking rings, so it’s pretty easy to adjust it to the length you want. And once you secure it in place with the rings, the selfie stick feels very sturdy. This is excellent for filming action videos – a flimsy stick means all the image stabilization in the world can’t help you.
The Sandmarc is a very basic action camera selfie stick. If that is exactly what you are looking for, then I think you will love it – it is high quality and very portable. However, if you want something more versatile, or a stick that you can use with your phone as well as the GoPro, you should look at some other alternatives I’ve shown you.
If you’re not exactly sure what you’re looking for, the official GoPro 3-Way grip is one of your safest bets. Since it’s the official accessory, there’s no doubt that you will be able to use it with the action camera. It is waterproof and you can use it in saltwater, just remember to clean it properly after every use.
It also works as a selfie stick, a tripod, or just as a camera grip. The versatility means you can take all kinds of shots, which is perfect for those of you that use their action cameras a lot. The 3-way grip is also going to be compatible with most other action cameras (AKASO and Yi), as their accessories are almost always compatible with the actual GoPro.
The mount can be folded a bit so that the grip doesn’t appear in any of your shots. That’s pretty cool – a big issue with those really long selfie sticks is that it’s almost always visible in the bottom of your selfies. That’s not the case with the GoPro grip.
The 3-way grip is some 20” long when fully extended, which is a decent length for a selfie stick. However, it’s not exactly a great length for an actual tripod – if you’re trying to take group shots, you will have to stand quite far back. This is why we recommend taking group selfies instead.
It goes without saying that this is compatible with all GoPro models. But it’s not compatible with smartphones or cameras, so it’s not the most versatile option. In addition to that, this is one of the more expensive selfie sticks out of the bunch. But that’s to be expected as it’s the official GoPro mount.
The Ulanzi Vlog Selfie Stick Tripod Stand is another versatile and affordable selfie stick.
It works with most Go Pros and other action cameras, which is very handy. It is also extendable to three different lengths but the maximum length is a little short at 9.9 inches for some people.
The bottom of the stick opens up into a stable and reliable tripod and shuts down small for portability too.
You would struggle to find a more portable selfie stick than this. It is so light and packs down so small, you can carry it in your pocket.
To top it all off, this selfie stick is also durable and affordable, which is a massive bonus.
The only downside is that it doesn’t extend very long as I already mentioned.
If you want to really get the most out of your selfie stick, you should get something that you can use in different situations. Several are compatible with smartphones and smaller cameras, in addition to the GoPro.
Some selfie sticks also double as tripods, which is exactly what you need for taking awesome long exposure shots. Others are bendable, extend to several feet, or can be locked into any length you desire.
You should get a stick that you think you will get to use the most. If you’re always taking shots with your phone, get something compatible with it. Or, if you prefer using your DSLR, get the one that doubles as a tripod.
Anyway, I’ve shown you lots of different options, so hopefully, you saw something you really liked.
Would you prefer something small and portable, or something that can be extended more than five feet? Because you can’t really have both.
Portable selfie sticks are very lightweight and small enough to fit in your pocket. But, they can rarely be extended more than 20-25”. If that is not enough for you, then you’ll have to give up on the idea of getting something really portable.
The same goes for selfie sticks that double as tripods. Because they have several legs, they’re neither thing nor that lightweight. But, they are far more functional than the small and simple sticks.
This is entirely up to you and your personal preference. I’ve shown you plenty of variety, so whatever you prefer, there are several options to choose from.
If you’re looking for more than just a selfie stick, you should consider getting an accessory kit. These usually include loads of different action camera accessories, and they are compatible with several action camera manufacturers, including GoPro.
They are great value for money since you’re getting that selfie stick, plus a bunch of other items, at a really great price.
Obviously, I’ve only shown you kits that come with a selfie stick, so you can get whichever one you want.
Not all GoPro selfie sticks were created equal. And not all of them have the same price tags. This is why I made sure to include sticks in different price ranges and order them accordingly – the first few are fairly cheap and under $10, and the latest ones are over $50. The latter includes the official GoPro mount.
I’ve made sure that there’s something for everyone’s budget. Just keep in mind that you’ll get what you pay for – cheaper selfie sticks are generally flimsier and not as durable as the pricier ones. But, if you’re looking for a quick and cheap solution, they will do the trick.
More expensive mounts are the better option in the long run, as you will be able to use them for a longer time. And they’re a bit more reliable – if you need something professional and sturdy, it’s better to spend a little more.
Not sure which of the selfie sticks you saw is just right for you? Not to worry – go for one of our top choices, and you won’t have any regrets!
If you’re on a really tight budget, then you should just go for the Vicdoza selfie stick. It costs some $10, and you’re getting a really good product for very little money. It extends to a maximum length of 20”, and it can be locked into several different heights.
When folded, this stick is less than 8” long, meaning you can carry it even in the pocket of your jeans. It’s not exactly versatile, but you can’t really complain about $10!
The Kusky selfie stick is definitely my favorite versatile option. It works as both a selfie stick and a tripod, and you get both for a really good price. It is waterproof, made from high-quality materials, and pretty lightweight and portable.
In addition to that, the selfie stick/tripod works not just with GoPros, but also with DSLRs and smartphones. If you’re looking for an accessory that you can really get to use a lot, this is the best one to get.
If you’re willing to spend a little more to get a premium product, I highly recommend the Coman selfie stick. You can use it as both a tripod and a selfie stick, and the two parts are detachable. So, if you want just a selfie stick, you can remove the tripod part and shed some weight.
This makes the Coman remarkably portable and compact, and you can really carry it anywhere. Especially because you also get a nylon carrying pouch, which is waterproof and well made.
Those would be my top three GoPro selfie sticks. Head over to Amazon to see their prices if you’re interested in buying one.
