Let’s kick things off with possibly the best action camera bag that exists – the GoPro Seeker backpack. The brand designed an entire backpack around their action camera, and it’s one of a few bags that you can get and be certain that you’re not making a mistake.
The Seeker backpack comes with an integrated shoulder mount that is ready to use. The mount is adjustable and within hands reach, so you will be able to easily adjust the camera to get that perfect shot without actually stopping.
GoPro’s camera backpack also excels when it comes to carrying comfort. It features thick padding in the backpanel and lots of breathable mesh for great ventilation. Plus it has a sternum strap and a hip belt, for premium carrying comfort.
This Seeker backpack has three compartments and a total capacity of 18 liters. The top compartment is heavily padded, and it can fit up to five different action cameras, batteries, and SD cards. One compartment is right behind the backpanel and it can fit a 15” laptop or a hydration bladder, making this a great backpack whether you’re looking to bring it on a hike or just around the town.
In addition to that, there’s also the spacious main compartment. It is equipped with multiple pockets and dividers, for easy organization of all your must-have gear. And the pack also features stretchy side pockets that are compatible with GoPro’s extension pole. The compression straps will keep the pole in place, allowing you to get amazing over-the-shoulder footage.
You will also get a removable chest mount with the backpack, which is pretty convenient for getting cool hands-free shots.
There’s no nice way to put this – the DeKaSi Seeker backpack is a really good rip-off of the GoPro official backpack. It has almost the exact same shape, it’s made from mostly the same materials and it features the same amount of pockets and compartments. Even the laser-cut attachment points are the same.
The largest difference between this bag and the official GoPro pack is the price point – the DeKaSi bag is almost half the price of the original one. So, if you’re looking for an awesome GoPro bag at an affordable price point, this is the best backpack for you.
Another smaller difference between the two packs is that the DeKaSi Seeker comes with a free rain cover, which isn’t the case with the pricier backpack. And you will need the rain cover to protect your gear from the elements since this pack is not entirely waterproof.
The Seeker bag comes with a few GoPro mounts: an integrated chest mount and an extra backpack strap mount. So, you have several ways of attaching your GoPro camera to the pack. The bag has a very spacious main compartment, with multiple internal dividers for easy organization of all your accessories. And the top external compartment can fit up to five different action cameras, which is pretty cool.
It’s also worth noting that the DeKaSi pack can fit DJI’s Spark and Mavic drones, as well as a standard 15” laptop. If you want to carry more than just the action camera inside this bag, you’ll be glad to know that it’s a possibility.
This backpack is also very comfortable to wear, thanks to the padded and ventilated backpanel and harness. It comes with both a sternum strap and a hip belt, so you’ll be able to make all the adjustments that you need.
The Thule Crossover is a great versatile backpack. It works for pretty much anything, from rugged terrain hikes to casual strolls around the town. This is a high-quality backpack with an exceptionally tough dobby nylon exterior for excellent durability.
One thing I love about this backpack is that it features a crushproof compartment for smaller items. Whether you want to store your action camera or sunglasses inside is entirely up to you.
This GoPro backpack features a padded 15” laptop sleeve, a smaller tablet sleeve, and a dedicated smartphone slip pocket. It has a very spacious main compartment that can easily hold all of your GoPro accessories, with an abundance of smaller slip pockets for effortless organization. However, this backpack does not have padded internal dividers, so it’s up to you to add extra impact resistance to the items inside.
This also means that the backpack is more versatile – with a basic main compartment, this bag can work for commute, work, gym, hikes, and pretty much anything you want. The front compartment has a pretty standard organizer panel that will fit all of the smaller items you want to keep easily accessible.
The Thule backpack features a very comfortable backpanel with very thick padding. There is some spacing between the foam panels, but there’s no breathable mesh over the backpanel. This means decent ventilation, but not the best for very hot days.
It’s also important to note that the Crossover backpack does not come with a GoPro mount. But if you already have one, you’ll be glad to know that it’s going to be easy to attach it to the shoulder strap, especially with the laser-cut attachment points.
The Smatree backpack is the best option for all of you who want to carry their GoPro camera and their drone in the same bag. This pack features an EVA foam insert inside the main compartment, which has cutouts for all the equipment you need. This means a dedicated spot for anything GoPro-related, from the actual camera to the battery.
But the GoPro camera slots are only a third of the compartment’s capacity – the rest of the space is dedicated to the Mavic drone, and all of its accessories. This also means you won’t have any use for this backpack if you don’t own a drone – just skip to the next backpack if that’s the case.
The main compartment also features two sleeves on the front cover. One is designed to hold a tablet, while the other one can fit a 13” laptop. A bigger laptop won’t fit in the backpack, which is something to keep in mind.
There’s also a front compartment that’s designed to hold the Spark drone. It features the same custom-cut EVA foam, with slots for the drone, batteries, SD cards, and remote controller. The top cover of this compartment also features two zippered pockets for smaller accessories. This pack also has two GoPro mounts – one is on the front panel, and the other one is on the shoulder strap.
In addition to all that, the Smatree GoPro backpack is very comfortable to wear, with a backpanel that’s covered with breathable mesh. The entire back system also features thick padding, and it is equipped with a hip belt and a sternum strap.
If you’re looking to get a versatile backpack, the Estarer bag is a really good option. It has a very spacious main compartment with removable internal dividers that really let you make the bag your own.
The exterior of the pack is made from water-resistant nylon, which does a great job of protecting your gear from the elements. And the bag only features YKK zippers, so you know they will perform exceptionally well.
This backpack can fit a lot of gear; with the internal dividers, you can fit three DSLR bodies inside, as well as several batteries, lenses, and flash. And if you take out the dividers, you’re left with a roomy main compartment that can fit enough clothes for an overnight trip.
The dividers are adjustable, so you can easily arrange them to make space for your GoPro camera and all of the accessories you need. This is actually what makes the backpack so versatile – you can customize the main compartment to your specific needs, and that’s pretty amazing.
In addition to that, the Estarer pack also features a laptop compartment in the back, which can fit devices up to 15.6”. It has two extra zippered pockets on the front and back panels, as well as a stretchy side pocket on one side.
The other side features compression straps that are designed to hold GoPro tripods and extension poles – all those bulky GoPro accessories that you just can’t fit inside the bag.
The back system of the bag is also really good. With thick padding and breathable mesh everywhere, you’ll be perfectly comfortable while wearing the Estarer backpack.
The K&F Concept backpack is great for people who want a bag that can fit a DSLR camera, in addition to their GoPro cameras. It features removable internal dividers that really allow you to customize the interior of the pack, in order to fit everything you need inside.
This large capacity bag can hold multiple DSLR bodies, lenses, and at least one flash, so fitting your tiny GoPro camera and all of its accessories inside will be a piece of cake. The main compartment also features two zippered pockets, which are perfect for storing all those smaller items like SD cards that tend to get lost.
The bag is made from water-repellant 840D nylon, for premium protection of your valuables. This fabric is also tear and abrasion-resistant, while the thick EVA foam dividers guarantee excellent shock absorption.
And it’s a pretty comfortable backpack to wear. The backpanel features thick padding, as well as foam inserts that are covered with breathable mesh for excellent ventilation. Plus, there’s a lot of space between the breathable panels, which allows for even better airflow. On top of all that, the backpanel also doubles as a luggage sleeve, making this bag even more versatile.
The K&F GoPro pack is also equipped with a padded laptop compartment that can fit computers up to 15”. This bag also features side pockets and compression straps on one side, for holding bulkier items. And there’s a small zippered pocket at the bottom of the front panel, which is great for items you want to have easily accessible.
The Besnfoto Rolltop backpack is an excellent versatile option. It features a waterproof tarpaulin exterior and a customizable interior, which really lets you make the bag your own. Actually, the interior of this pack is a padded insert bag, which you can take out entirely if you want.
The insert bag features a dual-density padded bottom and adjustable dividers. And that’s just half of the backpack – the interior is actually divided into two large compartments, with the bottom portion being reserved for the padded bag. It is accessible from the side, which means your GoPro camera will always be within your hand’s reach.
You also have the top part of the bag that you can use for whatever you want. It has a couple of internal pockets for the organization of the small stuff, as well as expandable capacity. In addition to that, the Besnfoto GoPro bag also features a separate laptop compartment, external zippered pockets, and side compression straps.
There are also two versatile straps on the front panel, which are great for storing bulky items. They can work for pretty much anything from a tripod to a skateboard, which is pretty cool. And they are removable, so if you can’t find a use for them, you can just take them off the bag.
It’s also important to mention that this is a very comfortable backpack to wear. The backpanel features thick foam padding and breathable mesh, and it is equipped with a hip belt and a sternum strap for excellent carrying comfort. There’s also a luggage sleeve in the back, which makes this rucksack a decent option for travel as well.
If you want just a GoPro backpack, then the Incase Sling pack is the perfect option for you. It is a small capacity bag designed to hold just the GoPro and its accessories, and not much else. If you are looking for a more versatile bag, then this is not the right option for you – but one of the seven other GoPro backpacks should work just fine!
The Incase bag is made from 1680D ballistic nylon, which has excellent abrasion and water resistance. It’s a very durable backpack that you’ll be able to use for ages, even if you abuse it every now and then.
This backpack has two main compartments – one is accessible from the top, and the other from the front panel. The front compartment is the largest; it features thick padding inside, a single organizing divider, and a faux fur-lined iPad sleeve. The top compartment is much smaller, and it’s equipped with a single open pocket.
The one thing I don’t like about this backpack is that it does not come with internal dividers. You would have to buy those separately if you wanted to have the ability to organize all the action camera accessories.
This sling pack also features external compression straps that can hold the bulkier items, as well as a couple of external pockets for stuff you want to have easily accessible. And the single shoulder strap is heavily padded and ergonomic, so it’s going to feel pretty comfortable against your body.
The best backpack for you is the one that can hold all your gear. So, you should look at the size and capacity of each backpack, to make sure that it will fit everything you usually carry around with you.
Also, keep in mind that camera backpacks are smaller than basic EDC bags. They’re not designed to hold a lot of gear, but rather to keep everything inside safe and protect it from any damage. Which means thick padding everywhere, especially inside the main compartment.
It’s very important to pay attention to the amount of different compartments and pockets. The more you have, the easier it will be to stay organized with lots of gear. Especially if you have a lot of smaller items that tend to get lost in bigger bags.
If you usually carry bulky gear with you, look for a backpack with external attachment points and compression straps. These features are designed to hold bulkier items like tripods and extension poles – stuff that doesn’t really fit inside a bag.
You can secure them in place with compression straps, or just attach them to a webbing strap with a carabiner – anything works, as long as you don’t have to carry stuff in your hands.
You’re looking for a GoPro backpack, but what else do you want to put in the backpack? The majority of the bags are shown you aren’t designed just for a GoPro, so pick up the one that seems like the best option for you.
All of the bags featured here have a dedicated laptop/tablet sleeve or compartment, they just differ in the size. So, make sure that the bag you have your eye on can fit your device – the majority of the packs I’ve shown you will fit all computers up to 15.6”, but some can only fit 13” devices.
Additionally, most of the packs here are designed to hold a DSLR or a drone, in addition to the GoPro. Some have adjustable interiors, so you can customize the dividers to fit your specific needs. But others don’t, and you should buy one of those backpacks only if it suits your needs perfectly. Otherwise, you won’t get a lot of use out of it, which means poor value for money.
Another thing you should consider is when you most use your GoPro camera. If you love to take it on hikes and camping trips, then the backpack should have a rugged exterior. In that case, look for water-resistant backpacks that are made from nylon or really thick polyester. But great quality comes with a high price point, so keep that in mind.
And if you usually just ride around the town, you will be fine with some cheaper backpacks. They don’t need to be so tough because they won’t be exposed to harsh conditions as much. But that still doesn’t mean you should pick up just any cheap backpack – stick with the ones I’ve shown you here, and you will be fine.
A good GoPro backpack mount is a must for anyone who uses the action camera often. With the right mount, getting the perfect POV shot becomes effortless – you just have to turn on the GoPro camera, and everything else is done for you.
But if you were hoping to score a backpack that comes with GoPro mounts, you don’t have a lot of options. Only 2-3 backpacks I found featured a pre-installed GoPro mount, and none of them were exactly cheap.
The good news is that you can get good backpack mounts for very little money, and transform any pack into an awesome GoPro backpack. Here are some of the best and most affordable options:
So, if you don’t already have a backpack mount and want to get a more versatile bag, be sure to also pick up one of these mounts. They will make your life a whole lot easier, and allow you to get some unique footage.
You should also look into chest straps – these are another awesome piece of equipment that lets you keep filming when you really need both of your hands to stay alive. This means epic shots without actually lifting a finger.
Additionally, a backpack GoPro mount is something you could use with backpacks you already own, even if they’re not specifically action camera backpacks. If you’re in a pinch for cash, maybe get a mount instead of a whole new backpack – it’s a much cheaper short-term solution, and it’s better than picking up a dirt-cheap bag!
If you still haven’t decided which GoPro backpack you’re going to get, pick up one of our top three choices!
Our favorite is the GoPro Seeker backpack – after all, you can never go wrong if you stick with the brand that made the action camera. The pack is designed around the GoPro Hero, so you can be certain it’s going to have a dedicated spot for everything you might want to put in it. And it’s comfortable to wear, with excellent water resistance and incredible durability.
If you can’t afford the official GoPro backpack, then the next best thing is a really good knockoff. And that’s the DeKaSi Seeker bag – it’s a spitting image of the official GoPro backpack, but at half the price. This pack comes with a GoPro mount, it has multiple internal pockets and compartments, and a very durable exterior.
And if you would prefer a more versatile bag that can also work for drones and DSLRs, pick up the Thule Crossover backpack. This is an excellent bag that you will be able to use for everything you want, from hikes to overseas travel. It just so happens to be an awesome GoPro backpack as well, thanks to the crushproof compartment and a variety of internal and external pockets for easy organization.
