Best eSIM For Denmark (Affordable Data)

Airalo

Airalo is a popular international eSIM provider with regional and local data plans for more than 200 countries all over the world. Some of their best and most affordable eSIMs are for European countries, including Denmark:

If you’re looking for an eSIM to use for up to a month and you don’t need a very generous data allowance, Airalo is a solid option. The only downside is that their eSIMs connect to the Telenor network, which isn’t one of the top providers in the country.

The upside is that Telenor partners with Telia, so you will be able to browse the internet on two networks in Denmark, but you won’t have access to 3 DK or TDC.

Maya Mobile

Maya Mobile recently did an overhaul of its eSIM offers. The provider previously offered just 30-day data plans, but now they let you choose from various validity periods and data allowances. It’s also possible to choose between plans that allow data sharing and those that don’t so that you can customize the eSIM plan to your preferences. Maya Mobile eSIM plans for Denmark are:

• 5 GB for $9.99
• 10 GB for $15.99
• 20 GB for $22.99
• Unlimited data – from $2.32 per day

It is important to note how the unlimited data plans with sharing work. The allowance is for high-speed internet; you get 2-5GB per day depending on the plan, and then you can use unlimited LTE data at a speed of 1 Mbps. Obviously, unlimited data with sharing is tricky because it can cost Maya a fortune. So, they throttle the speed beyond a certain limit each day. But, at least they allow sharing. Holafly just flat out does not allow it with unlimited plans.

Maya Mobile also offers a few more eSIM plans for Denmark. They include 3-20GB of data, and you can choose from four validity periods for each data plan (5, 10, 15, and 30 days).

These plans are priced from $5 to $24, so they’re probably the better option for travelers who don’t need a huge data allowance for their trip to Denmark or are just in the country for a while.

No matter which eSIM you choose, you can access 3 DK and TDC Mobile networks in Denmark. 3 DK is considered the best network provider in the country (see Open Signal’s report), with the widest coverage and fastest internet speeds, and TDC Mobile is a close second.

Holafly

Holafly is a global eSIM provider that operates in more than 160 countries. It’s best known for unlimited data eSIMs and is generally one of the best options for travelers who are heavy users and require a generous data allowance for their travels. Holafly offers unlimited data plans for Denmark:

• 7 Days: $29.90
• 14 Days: $47.90
• 30 Days: $74.90
• 60 Days: $106.90

Additionally, all Holafly eSIMs include a phone number that works in Denmark. It’s an Austrian number but it works without data roaming and you can make and receive calls for up to 60 minutes for free. No other eSIMs include a phone number, so Holafly is by far the best option if this is important to you.

Another great thing about the Holafly eSIM is that it grants you access to all four main network providers in Denmark – 3 DK, TDC, Telenor, and Telia.

Nomad

Nomad is a popular eSIM provider with affordable data plans for Denmark:

Nomad offers a lot of variety in terms of validity period, pricing, data allowance, and network operators. I’ve indicated wherever an eSIM allows you access to just one network operator, you should know that the plans without an operator listed allow you access to four carriers in Denmark – Telenor, Hi3G, Telia Mobile, and TDK-Mobil.

I think these are by far the best value for money, especially the 10 GB option. If you have plans to travel to multiple cities in Denmark and really explore the country, a multi-carrier plan is definitely a good option because it guarantees coverage in every corner of Denmark.

Alosim

Alosim is an eSIM provider that usually offers simple and affordable data plans. Its options for Denmark are identical to those of Airalo:

This provider also grants you access to the Telenor network, so the options really are exactly like those from Airalo. If you are considering the data plans from one of these two providers, it really comes down to personal preference.

I will point out that it might be better to consider options from Maya Mobile or Nomad for a short-term eSIM plan. The data plans from both providers are priced similarly to Alosim’s, but offer access to TDC and 3 DK – the two best mobile network operators in Denmark.

Orange Holiday Europe

If you want to be able to call and SMS while in Denmark, then the best option I have used is the Orange Holiday Europe eSIM plan.

This plan gives you the best of both worlds and allows you to use

• Unlimited calls & SMS in Europe
• 2 hours global calls
• 1000 global SMS

All for 2 weeks. I have had great experience with Orange. Not only because their connections are great and they are one of the top mobile providers in Europe, but you get lots of data for 2 weeks and can call and SMS to your heart’s content. During our time in Denmark and the rest of Scandinavia, it was a breeze with Orange.

Yes, that’s right, this eSIM also works in the rest of Europe, so you can use it in Denmark, and cross the border without having to swap eSIMs. When we went to Sweden it only took a minute or two to update networks and we were good to go.

SimOptions

SimOptions is an eSIM provider and retailer that sells their own eSIM plans but also plans from other providers. I’ve only covered the proprietary SimOptions plans for Denmark:

• 3 GB/15 Days for $12.9
• 5 GB/30 Days for $17.9 (regional plan)

The first two plans are for Denmark only, and I don’t think they’re amazing value for money because pretty much all the other providers are cheaper for the same data allowance and validity period. The only benefit of the SimOptions eSIMs is that they can automatically connect to the best network in Denmark, so they’re worth considering if you want access to the top providers (3 DK and TDC) for cheap.

The third, 5 GB plan, is a regional data plan with coverage in 27 countries in Europe. It’s a solid option if you’re planning to travel outside of Denmark, especially since you’ll get access to the top network providers in all those countries as well.
