Best eSIM for Hong Kong (Compared in 2023)

I often head straight to Maya Mobile for my Hong Kong eSIMs because their mix of per GB packages and unlimited data options are ideal for travelers.

Below is a summary of Maya’s Hong Kong eSIMs (all 30-day plans):

• Unlimited (Asia/Pacific+) – $59.00

Maya also lets you share your data via hotspot or tethering, so their unlimited data plans are great for work or sharing with a loved one.

In  Hong Kong, Maya uses CSL which has great 4G, so you should be good to go for data speeds too!

Airalo Xie Xie

Airalo Hkmobile offers you four  Hong Kong eSIMs for up to 10 GB, which should be enough for most people during their trip. The prices per GB are cheaper than Maya when you go over 3 GB, so if you need larger packages that are not unlimited, then they are the best option.

Airalo works with CSL on 4G LTE as well, so your speeds will be just the same as with Maya and many other eSIM providers.

They also allow sharing of data, which is perfect for working or families. And if you run through the data too quickly, you can easily top-up via their eSIM App.

Holafly Hong Kong

Who wouldn’t want to travel around Hong Kong with an unlimited data eSIM? Holalfy is hard to beat with its variety of unlimited data eSIMs, ranging from 5 days to 3 months:

• 10 days for $34
• 15 days for $47
• 20 days for $54
• 30 days for $64

• 90 days for $99

In Hong Kong, Holafly uses Hutchison Telecommunications and Hong Kong Telecommunications, which don’t rank in the top 3, but given there are 250 providers in a small place like Hong Kong, you should have no issues connecting.

Note: If you want to work via your phone hotspot or share your data, then Holafly won’t work. They don’t allow hotspots or data sharing. You are better off with Maya Mobile’s 30-day data plan in this case.

Nomad

Nomad is another of the most reputable Hong Kong eSIM providers out there. They have eSIMs for all sorts of countries, regions, and worldwide offers too.

For Hong Kong Nomad uses Chungwa which is great news for a great connection and speed while surfing the internet while you are there.

Their plans and prices are as follows:

• 3 GB / 15 Days: $8
• 5 GB / 15 DAYS: $12
• 10 GB / 30 DAYS: $18
• 15 GB / 30 DAYS: $26

If you feel restricted by their 15-day plans for the lower GB sizes, you can also grab their more expensive plans for longer periods. I just don’t think it is worth it!

I have used Noamd extensively in my travels and can only say good things about them. My go-to is Maya or Airalo, but sometimes Nomad has the best prices – just not in this case by a few dollars.

BNESIM

BNESIM has quite a lot of Hong Kong eSIM data plans that are actually quite affordable. You just have to ignore all the numbers that look confusing and compare the prices in the table at the start of the post.

All these prepaid eSIMs are valid for 30 days but not that many of them are cost-effective when compared to the likes of Maya or Airalo.

Ubigi

Ubigi is a great option for regional Asia eSIMs. They offer 5G connections for their huge range of plans for Asia including Hong Kong island.

Many of their offers for Hong Kong eSIMs for people who travel a lot are great. You just have to dive into their list of options and see what works for your trip.
